Spectacular roll in the mini's, car just plain failed to brake for T2 and barrel rolled through the sand onto the tyres.

just got home from helping my sister and her hubby move house, got a cap of the crash?

did they show/mention lucas dumbrell's crash?

just read elsewhere that it was justin hemmes that rolled, he rolled his wrx STI at the same corner about four years ago straight over the fence and through the sign.

Winterbottom thumps Skaife in the pits, game over for Winterbottom, and Whincup should be the champion today.

the last I heard on Dumbrell was that surgery revealed his spinal cord has been "compromised" but not severed as initially feared. And that it was too early to know what effect this will have on him.

2009's going to be weird for me, I don't know of V8 Supercars without Skaifey or Oran Park...

Well done to Whincup for the whole year and well done to
Tander
for winning the round.

according to nathan wong (accredited photographer) on annother forum

Quote:
I assume you mean the ex-Bob Holden Escort? No brakes coming out of the dogleg, tried to grab a lower gear and spin it into the infield, it slid through and launched itself over the kerb on the exit of the final corner and rolled into the concrete wall roof first. Luckily it was the left hand side of the roof that got squashed...

heres a couple amateur pics taken by MOTIV8 @ the biante forums

Holy shit! Can't believe how the roof has caved in. But you're right, if that car was left hand drive he'd be dead.

That was a Ford Escort. Unbelievable damage! Was the driver hurt?
