So WTCC is going to a track in the middle of nowhere.

Would love to see them at Suzuka or Fuji.

This track suits the S2000 touring cars far better then Fuji does, in my opinion.

Modern Fuji and Suzuka would just produce processions, although Suzuka right now would produce an interesting race with no pit garages

It'll be interesting to see how the racing is here, though. It seems more of a touring car type track - narrow, short, twisty, ideal for panelbashing (if they're allowed :()

Only just realised when I saw the map that Okayama was a renamed Aida....which was terribly slow and tortuous for F1 cars, apart from the sweeps down to T4, but it should suit relatively slow S2000 cars well. It's quite a short run to the first corner too so that could make things interesting from both a rolling and a standing start.

S2000 on Fuji or Suzuka will take a century before they have one lap.

Well, it's true, the cars are slow boring pieces of shit to look at. But the racing between them is epic tast.

They really have made an effort with those corner names haven't they? I quite like the knight rider turn there...

Anyway, here's hoping that the event will be a success and atract interest from japanese manufacturers.

I like Okayama, the place is beautiful and the track is nice, for F1 it never worked well, but for WTCC it may produce some great action

I totally agree.

This should be good for SEAT, errmm sorry I mean WTCC. This weekend will decide whether Muller and Tarquini will have any further competition in the Championship. I can't see Priaulx or Huff getting any closer. If it's going to be down to the SEAT twins then, not being a Muller fan I'm hoping Tarquini can steal it.

If anyone's interested, today's featured Wikipedia article is the 1995 Pacific Grand Prix @ Aida

Wet? Looks like I did the right thing to get up for this. But it depends on the 1st race whether I'll watch the second one.

Interesting enough, our Eurosport commentator has lately been an active member in the biggest Finnish motorsport forum, and shared his thought as a commentator and told some nice inside facts.

Warm-up lap.
