Le Brocq is expected to take over Jake's old car at MSR.

And it's been confirmed that Hazelwood will be returning there to be his teammate, probably meaning that Fullwood is destined for BJR.

If I'm not mistaken the race is starting 90 or so minutes later than normal? I'm happy with that as long as they don't run out of sunlight.

I predict the tracks will run into disrepair and eventually close which is so sad, as Tony doesn't do things in half measures and would have really made them fantastic facilities

Tony Quinn has been left in the lurch after a deal to take over Queensland Raceway and Lakeside Park fell through at the 11th hour.

“I got a phone call yesterday at nine o’clock, ‘Nah, I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to do it’.

“I’m just absolutely gutted mate.”

Well, this has taken a U-turn - a new deal has been reached. Tony Quinn will take over Queensland, while Tetley retains control of Lakeside

Tony really is going about buying up lots of tracks, he's also likely to buy Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park as well

That leaves only a combined bid between TLA Worldwide (the Skaife link) and the Australian Racing Group (who run TCR/S5000 etc) left. They intend to purchase not just the 65% of the series owned by Archer Capital as was initially planned but also the 35% owned by the teams. Archer Capital is reportedly happy with their bid and it's now only up to the teams to confirm the sale with meetings having been held this week to sort that out.

And it was finally announced this morning that this deal has been concluded, though they haven't announced much else at this stage.

Roland Dane has also confirmed the teams have sold their stake as part of a restructuring of the charter system, which could be a good thing given the current system has led to a general decline in the grid size over the years and not always provided much value to the teams.

DePasquale is showing some McLaughlin-level pace so far this weekend. He topped both practices, the first qualy, and has just gotten pole for the first race in the top-10 shootout from Will Brown and Will Davison in the other DJR car. Erebus is also doing well with Brodie getting their other car into the top 5.

SVG takes 2nd (and I think builds his points margin to a full round) from Brodie who got past Percat with two to go. A pit stop issue threw away a possible podium and maybe win for Brown though he still managed to get 5th.
