I predict the tracks will run into disrepair and eventually close which is so sad, as Tony doesn't do things in half measures and would have really made them fantastic facilities Quote: Tony Quinn has been left in the lurch after a deal to take over Queensland Raceway and Lakeside Park fell through at the 11th hour. “I got a phone call yesterday at nine o’clock, ‘Nah, I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to do it’. “I’m just absolutely gutted mate.” https://www.speedcafe.com/2021/06/25/qu ... TnaoxpnhZk |

That's a bummer. Lakeside is the one I'd be worried about of those 2 - given the past political issues on noise I know QR/Willowbank has a rail line station being put in to the south of the complex (where the planned NASCAR track was to be built) - so I feel like that complex will have some sort of future. |

seems like Supercars will have a new owner soon. According to Speedcafe - 3 groups in the running presently (Group 1 includes Paul Morris, Alan Gow (BTCC), Peter Adderton (Boost Mobile), Mick Doohan & Pete Smith; Group 2 bid is headed up by Mark Skaife; Group 3 bid is touted to be a "well-funded American sporting consortium" but no names were mentioned) https://www.speedcafe.com/2021/06/25/th ... ian-owned/ |

Even then I don't really see QR improving unless someone else buys it, which is disappointing given it would not take much to at least get TCR to go there instead of going to Morgan Park which is a fair bit further away from Brisbane and has pretty minimal facilities. |

Please don't take Alan Gow away from us. The btcc usually goes to shit when he's not around |

Skaife's bid includes TLA/TGI backing. Alongside the Morris/Gow/Adderton/Doohan/Smith & "well-funded American sporting consortium" bides - ARG is still interested as well. https://www.speedcafe.com/2021/06/27/sk ... ercars-bid |

I'm picturing Winton furiously taking down their 'out of business' signs and figuring out how to hold a double-header ASAP. It must be fucking exhausting to have any operational role in any major sport right now. |

Winton was postponed again last week and if I had to guess will probably be running when the AGP was supposed to be happening (or maybe between Perth and Bathurst). |

SVG wins Race 1, no safety cars. Third place was nearly 40 seconds back. |
