Is Smith running soft-soft like Jones yesterday?

That probably explains his position.

Yes its a tyre thing but it's still nuts

Van Gisbergen hasn't made the soft-hard work for the second time here. Safe to say they mismanaged the strategy.

That's if you consider that finishing off the podium and behind McLaughlin is a bad result for him?

I feel the same. Given he's starting 22nd for the final race he should have done the same strategy as Percat for this race and he probably could have bagged a win or podium.

Jamie qualified way back in the field on hard tyres like SVG did for the final race and it's hard to pass without being significantly quicker than the car in front.

Boring race but a good finish.

McLaughlin gets 3rd on the line!

That's how you win the championships.

Even Holden fanboys must be losing hope.

As long as Reynolds doesn't grab it this will be an interesting result, first win up for grabs between Le Brocq Heimgartner and Hazelwood

it's so nice seeing different drivers fighting for the win

Le Brocq gets his first! Brilliant podium with Heimgartner and Hazelwood joining him. I tuned in late, what caused the results to be so upside down?

It was because they changed the tyre allocations for this round. They had two sets of soft tyres and three hards this weekend (whereas they just had one compound last round) and the T888/Penske guys had run out of good softs by race 3 so they had to go on the hards which were a lot slower for the final race.

Channel 10 is officially out after this year (or maybe even Bathurst?). Channel 7 seems to be all but confirmed to be replacing them in a deal that will probably see more FTA coverage but be less financially valuable.

Post subject:  Re: 2020 Oz Supercars & Supports | Darwin postponed a week

https://www.supercars.com/news/championship/darwin-triple-crown-postponed-a-week/

The first of the two rounds at Darwin was supposed to be this weekend but they had issues getting into the Northern Territory due to a sudden border closure on the weekend, consequently the teams/drivers have only arrived up there today and the first round has been pushed back a week.

The second round is still going ahead (possibly with a midweek round) as it seems they're trying to stay on the road and get in as many rounds as possible before they head to Bathurst, which will probably end up being the season finale due to the COVID crisis and severe lockdown in Victoria making it almost impossible for national level motorsport to continue with full grids.

Post subject:  Re: 2020 Oz Supercars & Supports | Darwin #1 this weekend

The first of the Darwin double headers is this weekend. It will be the first of four straight weekends of racing for the series (as there will be another double header following at Townsville)

https://www.supercars.com/2020-beteasy- ... e-results/

The tyre allocations which caused the results shake up at the Sydney rounds will be remaining much the same, the only major change is that there will be two compounds in the first round and a single compound in the second round (which is the opposite of what it was at Sydney).
