Erik Jones has joined the V8s (not really). This is a pretty striking livery IMO:

Jack Smith's livery is pretty good too:

Chaz Mostert's WAU livery is not great:

Premat will be sticking around the enduros after being replaced by Slade for this year, he is expected to head to Tickford.

Jack Perkins has also moved to Tickford for the enduros to partner Will Davison.

More details on that.

Looks like the only way they'll be staying in the series now is if HSV and Triple 8 support it, presuming they continue converting Camaros and the like. I think the Corvette is still going to be coming in RHD too.

I suspect GM will only sell the Corvette officially in RHD & maybe the new Hummer EV in LHD. HSV will do the Camaro until GM axes that, and of course the trucks.

Next couple years are going to be pretty interesting for both V8's and NASCAR - especially if GM axes the Camaro as rumored

Dam, this is shit news! Almost gotta wonder if Holden could get sold off to someone else because it's such a strong brand name in this part of the world

In ways I'm still just trying to process the news, and I'm just a dumb redneck from NASCAR country - Always been a Holden fan (although being a Chevy / Pontiac fan in NASCAR, IndyCar & sporty cars it was inevitable) ever since I started watching V8's in the mid 2000's when SPEED aired them on a month delay (mainly rooted for Murphy and the HRT/Walkinshaw cars). I'd say a mixture of that & seeing a past neighbors' Monaro (GTO) up close got me hooked.

Penske tried buying Saturn when the Great Recession hit back in 2008. GM put the kibosh on it basically. So I'd guess it's doubtful at best, and that's a major shame.

Wish they would give the brand as a whole to Walkinshaw/HSV and the HDT Special Vehicles group personally.

Yea, this isn't a very good situation for the series at the moment, and what a dick move by GM

Where are you seeing that? I haven't seen anything like that but I have seen immediate responses from Ford and DJRTP expressing their sadness at the news.

And IMO this all started with Joe Hockey basically daring GM to close the factory back in 2014. The same political party has killed pretty much every industry and natural resource Australia has left, and yet dumb cunts from Queensland keep voting them back in.

If it was such a strong brand people would still be buying lots of Holdens but they aren't.

For a auto manufacturer to last this long in Australia is a remarkable achievement.

I think you'll find they were already looking at trying to make that happen before the Holden decision. There were articles a few weeks back stating that there was going to be a two-door coupe focus for the next major regulation change, which is supposed to be coming in 2022. Problem is that's basically what TA2 is and that's been taken over by the TCR/S5000 people meaning that series is going to gain more attention and have live coverage on 7.

Either way I think Supercars has to sort out what they're going to do pretty soon because the current TV deal ends this year, not to mention that Ford probably won't want to stay in the series for too long if they're basically the only ones involved. Plus there's only 24 cars on the grid ATM so they can't afford to lose any more cars.

They should've been more receptive to involving other manufacturers, Aussies are tremendous supporters of motorsports and doubling down on Holden vs Ford has put this racing series into a really bad position.

In other news the preseason test was yesterday. Davison went fastest, it passed by mostly without dramas although the Kellies had some teething troubles with their new Mustangs.

Pither is making a full-time return this year in the second Tekno Sydney car. Boost Mobile (the sponsor which dramatically quit the series last year over parity and basically screwed Garry Rogers in the process) has made a sudden return as the main sponsor of his teammate James Courtney's car.

Courtney has left Team Sydney effective immediately. What an absolute shitshow. Boost have also gone with him as they were only there to help him out apparently.

He was the same clown who screwed GRM.

Who uses Boost Mobile anyway?

Alex Davison is apparently going to be driving the car vacated by Courtney this weekend.
