Tekno won't be expanding to two cars for this season as the Sydney team deal they were involved in has fallen apart. Apparently James Courtney has split with Tekno as well so they'll have to find a new driver or someone else to take over their entry as they've already locked themselves in for the season.

So where could Courtney end up at now? Nowhere that can afford him probably.

There's nowhere left for him aside from going back to WAU if he wants to race full-time. I'm not sure that he is actually leaving Tekno given they made a post on their socials a few hours after that story broke that suggested he'd be racing with them this year.

The NZ round has been moved to Hampton Downs because local laws have prevented them from racing at Pukehohe on ANZAC Day.

good selection given the circumstances

still wish V8's would run 2 or 3 rounds in NZ - at Pukehoke, Hampton Downs & Highlands IMHO

Very good backup option, I'll be curious to see how they race at Hamptons, it's quite technical so doesn't produce the best racing at times, then again Pukekohe could be boring too

Tom Randle has had an operation for cancer, hopefully it's only just a scare.

Auto Action is now reporting that Team Sydney is all good, that Courtney will be driving for them (and has taken a management position at the team) and that they will be running a second car. I'm not sure what to believe at this point

How many cars will be on the grid this year then??

Post subject:  Re: 2020 Oz Supercars & Supports

If they do run a second car it will be the same as last year (24) despite the fact that GRM quit and the Kellies got rid of 2 of their cars.

Coca-Cola will be sponsoring Courtney this season

Some fans spotted the car on a roll back & sent a photo in to Speedcafe

I don't have Instagram on my phone but I know it's posted there

quite nice to see a relatively clean livery, most of them are far too busy

Post subject:  Re: 2020 Oz Supercars & Supports

if anything the main thing that bugs me about current era V8 paint liveries is that 95% of the field is on the super boxy / spike style over the past few years (not the only series to basically see that style of design dominate the field - i.e. dirt open wheel paint schemes as a whole - mainly with Kahne & Blackbeard making that trend viral in that scene basically) - so while it's just plain red it is refreshing to see in that sense.

I do hope they bring a Gardner throwback out for Sandown
