That was the racing equivalent of Man City-QPR. Nearly a whole day looking like the predictable outcome wasn't going to happen, and then everyone jumps out the way and it happens after all I don't dislike Colin on a personal level but WSR winning after all is a massive buzzkill given how everything's so gamed in their favour |

Cammish drove well all year and you can't hold his teammate's actions against him. I can't imagine how gutted he feels right now. Turkington is a worthy winner, and by the skin of his teeth too! |

Jesus wept that was a rollercoaster. I thought a dry championship decider wouldn't live up to the past 2 wet ones, but boy did it. Scott Dix-ington managed to squeak another one. It was pretty expected but the way in which he managed it, even in his DTM car, was spectacular. Plato getting a win in the final race managed to leave a bitter taste in the mouth though, but of all the ones for him to win, this is probably the best as he'll hardly get any attention from it Hurry back soon, BTCC. You truly are the best of all the motorsports. |

Looking at the replay, Cammish's rear brakes were glowing too. You never see that. |

It was brake failure, don't think it was because he was so close behind Jackson for a while. |

Sorry, I just can't get over how lucky one man can be. Spare me all the "we worked harder" bullshit. The car and budget WSR have is streets ahead. Without success ballast and reverse grids, Colin and Jordan would've cleaned up. I know the alternative is Dynamics, who are hardly a small team and squeaky clean, but Cammish has driven better this year relative to the cars they both have - especially considering it's only his second year. Jordan's been better too, and it's now clear he undoubtedly would've won the title but for the Collarding he got at Donington It's annoying that, as Cammish just said, that red flag at Silverstone when he was passing Colin proved decisive. That's what sticks - it just feels like WSR have things tilted in their favour, and that the powers-that-be have got the outcome they were hoping for. I've been flippant about it all year but it's now genuinely frustrating because I didn't think it would come to this. I thought Colin would cruise through the last 3 races as he always does, pick up enough points to edge it and it'd just be a case of "meh, that's racing, whatever". But the way it's happened is annoying - yes, a car failure for his rival can't be helped, but that recovery was ridiculous and shows just how much better the BMW is than every other car on the grid. Oliphant came through from the back as well to finish quite high up so it shows it's not a fluke. Plus there's the penalty Neal got earlier which in my mind is ridiculous and that's not the first time WSR have benefited from that kind of marginal decision - if Neal drives into anyone else on the grid like that (and heaven knows how many times he's done it before), I really doubt he'd have been penalised You can tell from Cammish's interview that he feels the same - there were some little pass-agg comments there again (Colin's "had his moments" for one) after his "DTM car" remark earlier on. I really hope we've not just seen his only title shot disappear - he's a good guy and a very talented driver. The BTCC is still as fun as ever but at the moment despite all the different race winners this year, it doesn't feel like the relatively level playing field it's presenting itself as and that's a real shame. And with Jordan leaving WSR, you'd think Colin is very likely to win again unless ToCA get a grip |

It must be odd being partisan for or against a team so much that a great finish like that leaves people cold... Either way you look at it, it was high drama and fantastic entertainment. Yes, there is a dominant team atm, but that's literally why we have these reversed grid and success ballast racing in the first place This isn't formula 1, if you're a purist, it's not for you. The series will literally throw everything they can at the series to ensure it is entertaining because that way leads to big crowds and high viewing figures on tv, so greater advertising revenue that filters down to the teams and the cycle continues on... We've had dominant teams before so WSR's performance is nothing new. Hell, we have this format because of the Vauxhall's dominance (with little other competition) nearly 20 years ago. It's nothing new and rarely lasts more than a couple of seasons, so just be patient and it'll all swap around again BTCC might be many things, but boring is never one of them |
