The first round of the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship season is this weekend on the streets of Adelaide in the Superloop Adelaide 500. This weekend appears to be one of the warmest race weekends at Adelaide on record (40 C / 104 F presently forecast for Friday & Saturday). This season marks the return of the Ford Mustang to Touring Car racing in Australia for the first time since 1992 (last race being at Adelaide - Group A non-championship race / with Lawrie Nelson at the wheel). Along with the first 2 races of the 2019 VASC season, supporting the weekend includes: Dunlop Super2 Series, East Coast Bullbars SuperUtes, Paynter Dixon Touring Car Masters, Aussie Racing Cars, Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia & Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup Asia. The track goes hot on Thursday with the first practice sessions of the 2019 season.
