all of the support races were very enjoyable to watch, although in my case (a fan in the USA) that's the case 65% of the time regardless of event (Touring Car Masters / Central Muscle Cars is always badass).

I love this part:

Quote:
The revived TKR operation seeks an engineer and the final 20 percent of its funding in order to secure its entry into the Great Race.

“Our objectives are achievable but it is going to be a very long week with numerous discussions ongoing to ensure we have the required budget and package that is at a level that matches the calibre of both van der Drift and Evans’ ability,” said John.

bla bla bla

“But if we cannot get all aspects of this campaign over the line by the end of this week we simply will not be at Bathurst this year.”

So they only publically announced that they're looking at entering today when they need more sponsorship and an engineer by the end of the week? Seems legit.

Roland Dane (T888) & Ryan Story (DJRTP) was on Enforcer & The Dude this week - with discussion on the Pukehoke safety car fiasco, BoP issues going back to the ZB Commodore & the Mustang & what they've like to see in the future.

If there is concerns over IP with Ford & General Motors, then why is NASCAR & IndyCar allowing Trans-Am to race at their events? Trans-Am & Five Star Bodies had to get approval to do these bodies for TA2, and Five Star already has massive tech partnerships with both OEMS for NASCAR & NHRA programs

No surprises here, the guy is a crook, no deal with Jaxon had even been signed so he was BSing with that

There is going to be a new-ish team in the series, operating out of Sydney. James Courtney will be driving for them and they are looking at obtaining a second entry. It will be absorbing the Tekno Autosports team and is being bankrolled by Rod Salmon.

The Kellies will be running two Mustangs next year, probably for Rick and Andre Heimgartner. Their other two entries have been sold to other teams, apparently Matt Stone and Team 18. They intend to continue running two of the Nissans in Super2.

If she can get a drive with another team maybe not, but she's already announced that she's going to be testing for Porsche in Formula E and I'm guessing that will mean some other racing opportunities which are probably more enticing then running around at the back of the pack in Australia again. The only way I see her staying with the Kellies is if Rick retires or Andre leaves, they'd be stupid to get rid of Andre since he's been the only one in that team who's shown any really decent pace this year.

GRM's sponsor demanded on the weekend that Supercars announce the introduction of some control front suspension parts for 2020 by this Friday (which is the deadline for entries for next season). As it happens those parts are already going to be introduced in 2022, and there are already some other control front suspension parts + other technical changes being mandated for next year anyway. The sponsor threatened to pull his sponsorship unless the changes were made and GRM has said they will have to withdraw from the series if they can't find another sponsor which is unlikely in the time frame.

If they do pull out it may not mean another reduction in the grid size however, since the new Sydney team still has to obtain another entry from somewhere and BJR are apparently going to be running a fourth car for Jack Smith.

All Peter Adderton (Boost boss) does is call journos up and try and get press through making bold statements and either threatening to throw money at them or pull out if he doesn't get his way. One way to get attention on your brand when the cars aren't doing it I guess.

That's a real shame but not unexpected with all the dramas they've had.

They were getting to be very competitive with McLaughlin and the Volvos, but then Volvo pulled out and forced them to go back to privateer Holdens, then they lost their main sponsor at the end of last year and now they've had another major sponsor pull out after less than a year of a two year deal. With the general cost issues with the series as well it's not surprising they've become uncompetitive this season.

I think even if they'd been able to get on the grid next year they would have struggled to get any decent results and they're probably better off fully focusing on their other programmes.

Sad news, the press conference was hard to watch seeing Gary break down at the end :(

It looks like the grid will be staying at 24 cars next year, although one of those entries is pending the sale of a REC.

That sucks about GRM. They're one of the most likeable teams in world motorsport.

It's been poor form from both Supercars and Boost for GRM to find themselves in this position I feel
