It's time for the big one. Australia's great race, the greatest touring car race in the world, and quite honestly one of the greatest races across the board in motorsport. Nowhere else in touring car racing you will see 26 teams and their drivers battle for 6+ hours at 110% percent while constantly in door handle to door handle battles across the 1000 kilometer challenge. The amount of history this event has is unreal. While the old school manufacturers aren't building their cars in their traditional state, the battle between the fans in blue & red will continue rage on. 26 teams, 52 drivers, 3 manufacturers will all battle for the Peter Brock Trophy on that first Sunday of October. It's time for the 56th edition of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, the 59th year of the great race across 2 venues & the 61st race overall across multiple rulesets. Supporting the race weekend includes the 250km contest for the Dunlop Super2 Series, ECB SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters, Porsche Carrera Cup Australia & Toyota 86 Racing Series. The event will begin October 3rd with the annual transporter parade through the city of Bathurst, The track goes hot on Thursday with the first practice sessions of the event, with the first support races of the weekend on Friday. Ahhh, the one week a year when the Motorsport.hopto stream becomes unwatchable because people suddenly crowd onto it RIP MOTORS TV, the ability for european people to stream a less laggy stream will be sorely missed this year, I feel. |

Freesport has just launched an HD channel on Virgin (so I assume there's a freesporthd on sky too) - maybe if the members of the NASCAR group on Facebook give them enough grief, they may show it live, they don't seem to have problems with showing obscure sports live in the middle of the night. I know Motorsport.tv have the exclusive rights, but I'm sure not having an active transmission channel may invalidate that exclusiveness. |

The bird of the prey returns for it's final flight of the mountain on Richie Stanaway's Falcon - Ian-S wrote: Freesport has just launched an HD channel on Virgin (so I assume there's a freesporthd on sky too) - maybe if the members of the NASCAR group on Facebook give them enough grief, they may show it live, they don't seem to have problems with showing obscure sports live in the middle of the night. Going off of the year that us in the States had no VASC coverage thanks to FOX killing Speed. I'm going to assume it will stay under Motors. Hopefully they will work with Freesports or stream it for yall on their service like what FOX does for the Canadians without FSR for the Mosport Truck race. |
