I guess that means we won't be seeing such a good live stream for the FFords and other supporting series this year...but oh well, it was inevitable really, especially with a third (!) Touring car series trying to be launched (when will they learn? :? )

The idea of the Touring Car Trophy is fine. It gives old cars somewhere to race, so it's no different from Super2 or Super3 in Australia. Britain absolutely didn't need TCR though.

You just knew the entire reason it existed was to try and get the BTCC to switch to TCR regs so eventually they'd be in charge of the best of both worlds, ITV4's full day TV stream that shows the BTCC running FIA TCR UK regs

When they didn't get the upkeep in year 1 to be even a half-credible threat, it was pretty much all over.

Now the BTCC can switch to TCR if and when it chooses. If ever.
