It'd been a while since I saw a BTCC race for the last time. Glad I did today.

"Alan Gow will deal with it privately, unlike some."

Race 3 was the first time Nash has been out of the points all season, incredible consistency

"AmD Milltek Racing.com can announce that it has come to an amicable agreement to part company with driver Tom Onslow-Cole in order to allow him to take up the offer of a drive elsewhere.

AmD Milltek Racing.com is pleased to have helped Tom to remain on the BTCC grid and wishes him well for the future.

Further details on who will drive the Volkswagen for the remainder of the 2011 season will be made in due course."

Could that be the Chevrolet announcement? Just putting two and two together..

Maybe the deal was done during the event or AmD found out?

To be honest, I agreed with both Plato and Harvey yesterday. It's not right that one car can just drive straight past another with little to no effort, that's not racing. At the same time, there's a time and a place for the type of comments that Plato made. Right there & then wasn't it.

Oh, and  at Matt Neal.

Had Plato done that to MacDowall, he'd be blaming the turbo's for it.

Been posted elsewhere but should post it here since we'd seen the debris but not the accident.

Precisely. Calling out the series boss live on TV was almost as daft as Hamilton calling the Monaco stewards frikkin stupid, he just missed off the faux-racial joke. But his point was entirely valid. That Honda just seems so much faster than anything, even moreso than the other turbo cars.

Is it me or does Plato driving this year seem different? He doesn't try to put up a fight when the Honda gets anywhere near him. Has he given up or is he using the speed differential between the cars as a way to make his point?

I don't know whether to applaud Matt Neal for being brave enough to have ago, or chastise him for the being stupid for doing so. One thing is for sure, with so much at stake it was amazingly arrogant for him to believe that the risk was worth taking. Seeing the onboard shot with his drooped helmet in his hands was well worth it for me. Classic faux pas.

But straight line speed is only part of a car. Where were the complaints when Chevy were the best team? Or are you only allowed to complain when the car is faster in a straight line?

And the turbo charged Vectras didn't seem to be able to our drag the Chevys. Maybe Honda just did the work better.

That's probably the case entirely. The Honda is just a better engine and the Civic a better car.

You watch the Neal/Jordan battle, in the corners the Honda gained a lot.

Took me long enough to get here to vent my opinions, tbh I expected this thread to be a little longer but I see there's been more drama elsewhere this weekend that may have distracted people a bit.

But I have never been so angry at the events of a motor race as race 2 of the BTCC this weekend...ridiculous.

Firstly you had the final corner shenanigans (what is it with 2011 and final corner craziness, seriously? :? ) and then there was Plato-gate.

Wow. I remarked to my GF who was watching it with me (well was kinda ignoring it until the final corner lol ) "how long until he has a dig about the turbos", expecting him to be happy but still make a reference, as usual.
THEN comes the most stupid and bizarre interview I've ever seen. You'd think Plato was the one Matt Neal ran into, not that he won the freaking race.

After that I don't care any more if he's got a point or not, heck after such ungraceful behaviour I wanted Alan Gow to respond to Jason's request, come down to the pitlane, bitchslap Plato live on TV then announce he's just bought the old A1GP stock and everyone bar RML can run ex Ferrari chassis and Jason can just suck it.

I'm hoping he's now so pissed off he's going to request a move to the WTCC where they have the advantage he craves in the BTCC cos whereas before it was fun to tease and watch him rant now I just never want to hear from the spoilt little wanker ever again.

There's no chance we can get Richard Childress a plane ticket to come over and sort out another driver with an ego bigger than his championship that needs taking down a peg or two, is there? :?

Away over the weekend and just watched the races, Plato's interview after he won just sums up what a detestable person he is - he has Kyle Busch levels of sheer dislike glowing out of his every pore.

Given the SEAT turbo diesel shennanigans of previous years I'm amazed he has the gall to say things the way he does - he's got no class whatsoever.
