Spec chassis are pretty much the way of the touring car world now, bit late to complain about it.

What I'm saying is that they already have a car that is a RWD saloon, why go with an Altima? Especially considering the Altima looks like shit.

Yep, not much use marketing a car that's not sold in the country the series primarily runs in (Skyline). Who gives a shit whether it's really RWD anyway? Even if it was it would have no mechanical resemblance with the road car as frame, suspension, pretty much everything is spec.

Skyline isn't 4 door, V8SC regulations say the saloon has to be a 4 door car.

Are you sure? The Infiniti G37 comes in four door, so I would imagine there is a four door Skyline. I don't know what it's sold as in Aussieland, though.

If it were that simple, why would Ford even still sell the Falcon anymore? It's antiquated, and they could just make the Fusion/Mondeo a V8 Supercar. Nissan already have a RWD saloon that they sell in Australia, why not use that?

It's an Infiniti but the M37 is a RWD Saloon.

Some of the older skyline models come in 4 door, I don't think the latest one does though

Only a non-Australian would say that.

No offense, but Ford will enter the Ka into V8Supercars before it drops the Falcon.

Infiniti aren't very popular at all here, selling less than 500 cars a year here, so I doubt they'd enter the sport with the G37. Plus Nissan want to build on their racing heritage from the 80's, they don't want to do it piggy backing onto Infiniti

But they want to do it with an oversized family car that has never been a sporty car for them? Do they even sell the Altima in Australia? Why not go with the Pulsar sedan which goes on sale in Australia soon? What is this even a marketing exercise for? If they wanted to build on racing heritage, surely a Pulsar would be the sensible choice given the history of that car?

For most people the Skyline is the GT-R.

When Nissan first got involved in Australian touring car racing, as Scotty says, the car of choice was a 'family sedan', the Bluebird

Even when we were using the R31 two doors, Australia was building the 4-door variant. The move to the GTR was purely competitiveness based.

Using the Altima is the perfect choice, especially as it is this model which is in competition with Falcon's and Commodore's in the market place

Hopefully tonight's race will be better, because both races last night were shit. Not expecting much, though.

Look at this beef between Casey Stoner and Mark Winterbottom. Twitter link: https://twitter.com/Official_CS27/statu ... 3522041856

Btw, it's almost 100% sure Casey will run V8's next year with red bull backing.
