This is what happens when you have drivers, some of which never do standing starts attempting one with full fuel in race conditions. Should be a rolling start or force the primary drivers to start the race.

Ditching this international drivers idea would be even better tbh. Just lucky the two champ contenders didnt get involved or there would have been a real major uproar.

It'll happen eventually, or even worse someone will get hurt

Getting these things off the line is friggin hard on E85 alone, add full endurence tanks to that and sprint tyres and it's a recipe for what happened today....twice (and again on the successful start, just lucky no one collected him that time). Perhaps it comes down to each team having to take the responsibility to ensure their drivers are given enough experience with standing starts in these cars, though it's unfair that other teams then have to cop the damage as a result of another teams lapses in this area.

Todays "competition caution" was a bit iffy today as well, guess we do have some NASCAR drivers in the field to amuse.

Boris Said has done plenty, Papis his fair share also. Wasn't meaning current full time drivers obviously, a tongue in cheek comment, but once again any opportunity to undermine me taken xD.

The worrying thing was Jamie Whincup saying that a competition yellow was "part of our sport" and he was expecting it to come....

Guessing it'll be a while before this makes TV, but meanwhile here is a swearing filled fancam version of the Aussie Racing Cars flip:

This weekend has a feel of 2002 about it a bit, all we need now is a fancam version of the V8 flip to prove more cars actually flipped than the TV broadcast picked up and it'll be deja vu all over again :p

Boris done quite a lot of ovals, in a Roush funded Ford.

Same with Papis. He raced trucks full-time last year.

Cheers for the info. The V8 site just had a countdown, so I assumed it was the race since it didn't bother telling you what random session it was for.
