It also relies on constancy, which isn't the BTCC's strength, particularly as your likelyhood of being penalised goes down as your "fame" goes up.

Based on this season, however, Andy Neate would be starting Brands Hatch from before Clearways under this system.

Relies in the stewards actually giving out warnings at the right time. The only serious repeat offender is Plato and he's never penalised.

Indeed. Based on what we saw and learnt about driving standards and the stewarding at Brands Hatch then it's unlikely the new penalty system will make much or any difference.

I'm pretty sure he's competed there before and I seem to recall he did something similar during the summer break this past season.

Yeah the Honda drivers turned up on a feature about Dominican racing on the Grid earlier this summer, thought it was fairly random. Guess its a cheap way of getting some winter sun!

Perhaps TD prepare and ship equipment for some people in that series?

Jack Goff, Colin Turkington and Stefan Hodgetts all tested for team HARD and RAR respectively. It also looks like Jack Goff may have signed to drive for Gilham next year

It appears Gordon Shedden is not entirely convinced by the recent rule tweaks.

Had to deliver this parcel today. Resisted the urge to tamper with it. :p

That's a tad strong there. Poop was fine, bomb maybe taking it a bit far.

[CloseToTheLine]Bomb is the effect that Andy Neate has on the field each and every time he heads out on the track[/CloseToTheLine]

Liam Griffin wont be back in 2013 as mentioned a bit earlier in the thread.

Team ES will be back with full NGTC, but Chris James won't be driving

Autosport reporting that pitstops may make a return in a feature race from 2016.

All I can say is I fucking hope not.

:8:

Jesus Christ, if you want to take a great championship and then ruin it, try adding pitstops.

It does nothing for DTM and I don't see what the BTCC thinks they will do for the Championship :o

Hopefully this is just Gow feeling out the fans and the universal negative reaction will spell it out for him.

I like the idea of having a longer feature race, I've never been a fan of these silly short sprint races. Put stops though? The less said about that idea the better.

As I've said before, I'd like one Bathurst style feature race in a season.
4 hours of Thruxton or something (nothing too extreme I suppose, still trying to make it attractive to ITV4 and get a couple of supports in too :p )

The BTCC is the best Touring Car series in the world* yet it doesn't have the marquee event nearly every other series in the world does.
It needs it

(*In my opinion :p )

Either a 1000kms of Thruxton or a 24 hours of Knockhill would suit me fine.

I like the fact that Gilham is expanding his outfit. However, unsure about Goff in the Insignia. I like Goff, i have spoken with him a few times on Twitter and he is a really nice bloke and incredibly passionate about racing (great banter as well). I cant help but think the insignia will be a huge let down.
