No Plato either, seems he's just given up.

Edging towards overall retirement?

You'd expect so. Zero points, giving up on the weekend...

It does appear very unlike Jason. You’d think he’d have a moan on camera but instead he’s given up.

Wonder if we'll find he's quit the team altogether.

Yep, agree. What would that mean for the team? Just the loss of funding for one car, or more than that?

Yeaa, they'd lose Plato's sponsors but there won't be a problem getting a replacement driver and bound to be a few with potential funding.

It's strange what's happening with Plato. Usually when a top driver "loses it" they become a mid-fielder but he's been at the back all year. Engine issues was the given reason for race 3's DNS but the car looked and sounded fine to me.

I was surprised that Neal won the first race. I thought Turks would have had him off the line, and when that didn't happen I thought he'd get him later in the race with RWD looking after the tyres better. But the BMW kept falling back during the race. Good race pace for the Hondas.

Strangely, the three BTCC races were the least exciting of the day.

Yeaa, it's a rarity that the BTCC is the least exciting. Especially against F4 and Ginetta GT.

It's more than just the engine with Plato. Suttons done well with it and Plato can't blame it on prior accident damage either, he's just completely lost it. He's certainly lost interest.

If he didn't quit the team yesterday, it's only a matter of time.

This round was a bit tame compared to the others but still decent overall. I dont like Neal that much (does anyone?) but it was nice to see him get a win and show that the honds are still competitive. Race 2 had a good drive by Cook, but I think he should have gotten a penalty for his move. The last race was probably the least eventful, lost my attention a few times which rarely happens with btcc.

If Plato does leave, a good replacement could be Jackson if he's still around.

I like Neal more than anyone else from the old guard - Collard, Plato, pretty much all grumpy old men. Happy to see him proving those who suggested he's due for retirement wrong.

A friend of mine literally bumped into Neal on the way into a shower block when we camped at Snetterton. Apparently he was cheerful enough at some ungodly hour to say 'good morning' and exchange pleasantries.
