Moving the race forwards a week from its current November 20-22 slot would create a clash with the Brazilian Grand Prix, which would be broadcast at a similar Sunday afternoon timeslot.

Similarly, moving it back a week would put the WTCC races up against the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the schedules...

Like they ever cared about a clash with F1. This weekend for instance, with race 2 start scheduled at the same time as the start of the Austrian GP...

WTCC bosses quit supporting the Macau event because of the times of the races and unfavourable TV slots (for European audiences), so instead the season finale with be a night race at Qatar... on a Friday... what fucking awesome logic

With empty grandstands, naturally.

They love their motor racing in that region :whistling:

there are many reasons why they decided to replace macau with qatar, not just because of the tv time slot.

like the long time it takes to ship the cars back europe from macau. cars came back at the end of january, while from qatar it will only take around 2 weeks to ship the cars back to europe. the teams barely had time to test and prepare the cars for the next season as they had to ship them already in february for the season opening round in argentina in march.

also the very high risk of cars getting damged/destroyed in macau is also a lot more higher than in qatar, one of the main reasons why the teams where unhappy with macau as the finale.

So if that is the case (and I don't doubt you) then why doesn't the WTCC just come out and say these things, instead of creating some bullshit excuses? It just makes the series look silly(er).

Citroen will leave either WRC or WTCC after 2016 due to their involvement with Formula E.

With the way those programmes are going at the moment, I'd say they were more likely to drop WRC.

Another great track for WTCC. Shame it is only a single year agreement for the circuit. It appears WTCC will visit less European tracks from 2016 and onward.

Vila Real might stay in the schedule, France and Slovakia are likely being dropped and replaced with a streetrace in Santa Fe and another round in Asia (probably Korea if Kia joins WTCC). there are also rumors of WTCC racing at Mexico City.
