You're misreading the situation Paul. There's no hate, more a general dislike of the over hype the sons receive. There decent enough drivers but nothing more. They'll do well in to the future and good luck to them.

I honestly read more backlash about them than actual hype.

Only stories I read are on Touringcartimes or Autosport but I wouldn't say they get more coverage than anyone else in their near-front of the grid cars...less than Plato/Dynamics anyway.

Oh yeah, there's more Plato whinging crap than anything else. But that's to be expected given his success and time at the top. Whereas the amount of press Tom gets versus his actual comparable success is more than he should receive. Well that's my opinion anyway.

Did anyone else see Chilton (Tom) when he was on that godawful "no likey no lighty" program? His specialist skill to impress the ladies was playing a saxophone with sparks coming out of it. I was jealous of that.

Special Tuning Racing are planning to enter 2 cars in WTCC as well as 2 cars in the BTCC for 2012...

It'll be interesting to see if that happens. Good to see they are still committed to the BTCC.

If a team like Aon has to quit BTCC to focus on WTCC, I cannot envisage this working. 2 cars in BTCC and 2 in WTCC? That is a massive task.

Why must BTCC teams make the WTCC more legitimate by entering in it grrr

I'm a BTCC fanboy and a passing WTCC fan (same product handled badly imo) so I dunno what the manufacturers get out of a world championship when there's national championships to enter in most of the countries it runs in.
*shrug*

Most BTCC teams bitch about Knockhill being too far and too expensive! :p

New points system announced, nothing drastically different

Does give some of the smaller teams a chance of points considering BTCC is getting ever more competitive.

John George might score some points next season.

I think on the basis of this article:

We can assume Welch will definitely be back in 2012

I'm guessing Palmer hasn't made up his mind yet and will let Alan know once he knows how many other series are willing to pay for it first.

Autosport is today reporting that Ben Edwards may be the main commentator for the BBC F1 coverage for next year.

Good for F1. Although I fear bad for BTCC. I've not bothered to look how many clashing race dates there would be, but even if they didn't clash, poor Ben would never have a weekend off. So I would see him ditching the BTCC.

Special Tuning definitely staying in BTCC.
