That's the problem. If they make the Chevy equal to the Honda, the Vectras and Focus cars will be at a disadvantage to all of them. Honda just have an awesome car.

The guys I feel sorry for are Collard and O'Neill. Both quick drivers who have just shut up and got on with the job, even though their cars aren't that competitive. I can't remember either of them bitching about the turbos. At least not publicly after a race!

I think Gow has been taken off-guard by just how good the Honda is. I think repeatedly penalising the turbo's is going to become unfair, as they're pretty much slower than the Chevys now. Plato needs to accept the Honda's are better than the Chevy, and that this year is pretty much gone.

I think Collard's realised the stewards dislike him so much there's no point in provoking them further, and O'Neill's just very happy to be racing, so neither of them will bitch about the turbos.

Pretty much all of the inside of the circuit is accessible, the only bits which aren't (I think) is Hawthorn Hill, the straight between Dingle Dell and Stirlings and the straight between Stirlings and Clearways. I don't think any of the GP circuit is accessible from the outside.

Loved watching the A1GP there. Stood on a mound behind the hairpin and saw the cars screaming up towards the hairpin, turn around and watch them going down the back straight. Awesome.

Jason Plato wrote:
All the turbo teams are operating to the same engine regulations, so, if Honda have done a better job tuning their engine or have a better base engine or in fact have both, then surely the onus is on the other turbo teams to improve there own engine performance. Is it not true that Honda have less boost than all the other turbo teams? The answer to that question is yes.

The performance parity is clear in that it is between the best turbo package and the best normally aspirated package. This was agreed by all the teams. It was never agreed that equalisation would be applied from one turbo team to another turbo team.

So, all the turbo teams other than Honda have to some degree been given assistance by running more boost than the Honda.

So I fail to see how anyone can come to the conclusion that all the other turbo teams are being penalised by the performance of Honda.

Honda is the benchmark turbo team and based upon the 12 races so far this year, their engine performance should be reduced to bring parity with the best normally aspirated package. That is what everyone agreed to. The argument that this will effect the other turbo teams has absolutely zero weight in any debate. The other turbo teams need to improve their package (engine, chassis, team, drivers)

Or am I missing something,

Confused.

Still doesn't get it, does he.

TBH it's understandable, in a series which prides itself on forcing weight penalties onto faster cars to equalise the times and improve the show, to not do anything about the Honda's is a little bit of a case of double standards.

Plato has nothing to loose by shouting his mouth off about it, everybody else has far more to loose by rocking the board, that's why he seems to be the lone person complaining.

But it's *always* like this. When the Chevys had the advantage, nobody was on TV whining and crying like Jason is. So when Jason has an advantage, he's happy and everyone is respectful. When Jason is at a disadvantage, toys fly out of prams and tears flow.

It's ridiculous.

I can sort of understand that if they were promised parity and aren't getting it, they'd be unhappy. But turbos are the future, so...

Also, when parity is reached, Chevrolet will still be at a disadvantage.

True ellis, Chevy does tend to have a bit of a rep for complaining.

He is bonkers Rob isn't he? But he's a good driver, so if its stays wet we could maybe see points for the Audi.

According to the BTCC practice updates I'm getting on Twitter there's a red flag out in Practice because Frank Wrathall may have rolled... :o

If that's the case then I hope the car isn't too badly damaged.

Austin's currently third, btw.

As I was saying. I think tomorrow's going to be a busy day for the men (and women) in orange suits.

That picture explains a great deal.

Why he wears those sunglasses, for starters.

Hope he can still get the second Audi out at some point this year.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.
