Seems to be the aussie way to treat the race as if it was the same as the first practice session

IE base most of the early going in the pit lane and cut to the track sporadically.

But the field is quite spread out atm so there's not been too much to show, though apparently noticing this makes me the devil and everyone pats themselves on the back for snarky messages about it

Anyway, back to the race and the director has just woke up and found some cars together so woooh

Yeah, just not my taste for TV directing, I really wanted to, for once, count how long they show pit-lane action, including they coming in and their solo out-lap. Seems like 80% of the time from lap 61 up to 65. Still, from what I've read it's an unusual race because of all the high attrition rate, with a long green to just make things worse. Looking forward to see how many will actually finish the race without losing laps due to mechanical issues.

ITT noticing zero things happening except pit stops=demanding the race has to be crazy

Because NASCAR threads never ever mention all the riding around in Plate races before it ramps up in excitement later on...nooo

I'd say of the coverage so far, it's been at least 50% pit lane and 50% track, if not balanced more towards pit lane...

Case in point, side by side battling appears at last: but they cut away for an interview during it

Oh look, that 0% of rain has arrived :p

If you are watching the VLC stream then you are seeing a lot more on track footage than the people watching the free to air coverage.

I don't get how people watch endurance racing then moan that the action thins out. It's not a two lap sprint and it's not like there's been zero action and no drama.

When they started showing cars racing and cut to that tyre debri, man, I've never got so mad to see a tyre debri.

I guess I'm also missing the Nascar ticker that always shows the top 3. And the broadcast that seems to review who's leading, if the lead is growing or shrinking and anyone going up the field or down more often.

Has the Whincup/Dumbrell car led every lap? It seems like it.

I'm watching the EU-mirror of the VLC stream, is that different?

And that was one brave marshal removing that debris from Conrod straight.
You couldn't pay me to go out there, and they're not paying him to go out there either, yet he did :8:

Pye led for a while, and I think maybe McLaughlin was in the lead for a little while. But yeah, Whincup/Dumbrell have led for most of the race, and they have seemed to be in a bit of a class of their own this race.
