So yay, Lowndes got a proper shot at the title, right? Wold be very cool if he could win it.

20 points behind, which is basically 2-3 positions. And Whincup's always choked in Sydney, so I wouldn't be surprised if Lowndes ends up winning it.

Here's an interesting one. Penske to V8SC?

V8SC is looking healthy! Only thing that can improve is if Lowndesy wins tomorrow!

Or if Garry Rogers confirms a Swedish driver! Robert Dalhgren is looking likely, since he's been loyal to Volvo for a long time, ran WTCC for them and was there for the initial announcement. I wouldn't chose him of the current crop of Volvo drivers, Linus Ohlsson would be the most interesting choice as he is pretty much the Scott McLaughlin of Sweden, and Thed Björk is the fastest of them, though over-aggressive. Premat says he has a contract for next year, but the team sounds like they want to get rid of him.

Holden to be axed, could be phased out as early as 2016

I don't see Holden getting axed in every sense of the word. GM just pulled the Chevy nameplate out of Europe to shore up support for it's Euro brands. I doubt they would bring in another name to replace Holden in Australia. The worst case scenario is GM using a fully imported lineup badged as Holden.

He'll get some sort of penalty for that. Probably points or maybe grid spots.
