Any talk about silly season 09?

Any predictions? Stoner going to rebound?

Havent got a cue. I usually keep up with all the goings on in MotoGP but this season has been a total snoozefest (apart from Laguna) so ive lost interest a bit. It seems that Melandri is leaving Ducati and might be swapping seats with Hayden.

Misano is the weekend, but i dont hold much hope that it'll be a good race. However the upcoming race at Indy will hopefully be one to watch, especially with the curiosity of how the new layout will work

That's great news, but I wish he could've waited another year to try and get a ride with a better team.

It'll be interesting to see Hayden on a Ducati, that's for sure.

afraid the young mod is right.
he has big shoes to fill, as he moves into the rookie spots left behind by lorenzo, deAnglis(/JT) and the amazing doviziioso. but well he's a finn so he's gonna do something ;)

Hope he will be able to handle the Ducati, as we have seen it destroyed some seasons already of some drivers.

yeah, hoping is good for the soul but not so good for scoring points. i think this is it for hayden.
don't get me wrong. he is incredibly talented and versatile - he dominated all the forms of racing in america - ama, superstock, and dirted it up. all the mor reason to keep him IN america, where he is close to us all. someone else can embarrass america out there :p

Jack&Jones team is going to expand into 250cc. Probably with two bikes, in which case Barbera would be another rider and another rider is someone currently in 125cc.

Ajo Motorsport might also move. Also possibility is that they have one bike in 250cc (di Meglio) and one in 125cc. di Meglio is surely moving to 250cc next year.

Also, Yuki Takahashi is rumoured to MotoGP, taking Dovizioso's spot in JiR team if Dovi replaces Hayden in Repsol Honda.

Also worth of mention that Manuel Poggiali retired due to physical reasons between Brno and Misano races. His career had been downhill all the way since 2003 so it wasn't that surprising.

That's a shame, I was really hoping that he could get back in form.

I am pleased he will be riding in MotoGP, I have been following him for a few years and he have done well in the lower classes.

His first full season in 125cc was in 2001 i think. Though Im not sure how much racing he lost after the KTM fiasco.

Isn't Melandri going to Kawa?

I heard something about an age limit for the 125 cc next year so i guess he has to move out.

Hopefully that bike suits him a little better. Has Hopkins made a deal for next season already?

And a little suggestion: Would it be possible to change the topic title into "The BIG MotoGP/WSBK Discussion thread", please? :whistling:
