I kn9w, clickbair title!  But just asking a question..have there ever been motorcycpe races ran on full ovals speedways? Not half road half ovals...just tge oval! I was trting to imagine how it wpuld be...a voluntary race.not pushed to participate..a r9der goes if he wants! And you could potemtially have a motpgp Speedway series over the full nascar calender...imagine the massive 5 wide finishes, the massive slipstream passes

Yes, there is oval racing for motorcycles traditionally in modern times, it would be either: Flat Track bike racing - on dirt tracks ranging from 4/10th mile (Charlotte) to 1 mile (Springfield, DuQuoin, Sacramento). This format of racing also sees TT tracks on short course off road layouts & road style circuits (Peoria, Strugis, Daytona, Firebird). Most tracks usually have no banking (hence - Flat Track), but some tracks do - such as Charlotte (has more than it looks) and Weedsport. This form of motorcycle oval racing will usually see larger fields starting the race compared to Speedway bikes. This style of racing is most popular in the United States & Canada. Linked below is last year's doubleheader at the Springfield Mile Speedway bike racing - like Flat Track bikes, but on tracks usually ranging up to about a 1/4 mile in length. This style of motorcycle racing takes place worldwide & is largely popular in Europe. This format will see competition in both individual & a "stick n' ball / olympic style" teams format. Usually these bikes will not have front brakes. Here in the States, it's not as big as Flat Track racing & usually in smaller pockets around the country (California has several venues, New York has a local venue for it as well). back in the 1910's and 1920's - there was board track racing. Some of these tracks would range up to 2 miles in length & would have huge amounts of banking. This died off during the Great Depression due to the high costs of venue maintenance & also the risk factors involved, as this form of racing was extremely dangerous - American Flat Track is restarting here next month, races are broadcast here in the USA on NBC Sports Gold TrackPass & NBCSN - however there's no global option presently as far as I know. The season has been delayed as the lockdown started on the weekend of the previously scheduled Daytona TT. |

Thanks Yes I meant like wooden board racing, but on nowadays ovals (Texas, Daytona, Talladega etc...) |

MotoGP at DEGA would be fucking insane. It's just asking for massive lulz. Or massive fatalz. Hopefully more the former than the latter. But in all seriousness, a flat track race at Martinsville would be cool to see. |

They swapped it back in the last couple years as the banking in 1 & 2 is safe again. It's a ASRA race now though, as ISC / NASCAR is on one of their challenge pissing tourneys over the promotion of pro road racing in this country against MotoAmerica |
