Jonas Folger will not race in 2018, he suffers too much from an illness that already kept him off the grid in the last races of 2017.

Based off testing form so far 2018 looks like a repeat of 2017 - Ducatis are fast (Miller's looking very handy at the moment 8) ), Hondas are consistently thereabouts, Yamahas are inconsistent and Suzuki are nowhere again.

Looking forward to the day when racing with electric vehicles won't be spec racing.

Pretty cool bike though.

Does it have a gearbox? Regenerative braking?

Look, I am just going to say it, yes he is living legend, but how on Earth has Yamaha signed Rossi for two years while seemingly giving Zarco the cold shoulder. Unless Yamaha are souring on Vinales I can't see why they would tie up a factory bike for 2 more years with Rossi with the possibility of letting Zarco go to Honda or Ducati. I love Rossi but he hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire for the last 3-4 years. It just doesn't make sense other than the cult of personality.

Zarco is good enough, he should get it next year. Rossi is risking doing a Richard Petty and going on and on forever.

He'll never win a title in GP racing with so many unfalls

Losail is a track where Marquez usually struggles yet he pushes the dominant Ducati all the way. Ducati needs to put this stunt at Sachsenring or Phillip Island in order to beat him for the title. And well, Ducati means Dovizioso because Lorenzo should be replaced by Petrucci if he keeps sucking like he did here.

Every year I wonder why Pedrosa gets a new contract.

The fact Zarco turned domination into an 8th place finish while Rossi quietly finished 3rd somewhat vindicates Yamaha's thinking. Zarco is fast but needs to learn to make a set of tires last to the end, while Rossi is still far more consistent than Vinales. Consistency is good when Yamaha has only produced the 3rd best bike.

A couple of things about Zarco...

Firstly, prior to the Qatar weekend Yamaha's Lin Jarvis said there is a possibility of a third works bike being made available to Zarco for 2019. That bike would be run by a satellite operation.

Secondly, Zarco and Michelin said post race that there was an issue with his front tyre which caused his late race fall down the order. The issue first appeared early in the race and in the circumstance, Zarco was happy with an 8th place finish.

Well, let's face it, Zarco's last year's heroics caught everyone by surprise. He was doing better than anyone anticipated. Yeah, he was a two-time Moto2 champion but a late bloomer when compared to the buzz Marquez and P.Espargaro got when they were there.

Anyway, this should be Rossi's last contract. The entry list opens again for the 2021 season and it's widely speculated his VR46 team joins the MotoGP field for 2021 and he stays there as team boss. That's why Tech 3 bolted from Yamaha for KTM. Ponchoral second-guessed VR46 will take his Yamaha satellite entry spot and he's gonna be hang out to dry.
