Double long lap penalty for MM93 has been sanctioned. Also Jorge Martin suffered a broken toe in the incident. Meanwhile Aleix Espargaro wanted a one-race ban for Marquez.

Apparently Marquez' penalty specifically says it's to be served in Argentina, which is he going to miss because of his thumb. So he got away with it (in a sporting sense).

pretty much like football when a player gets a red or 3 yellow cards

unless is a very serious offence, then the penalty could be applied even to a further season

Is he officially out of Argentina? I thought only Bastianini and Espargaro were confirmed out?

EDIT: Damnit... Surgery on his thumb so he is out. I wanted him to have the indignity of having to do a double long lap.

Indeed. Just read it... Ugh.

People wanted the 500 era back... With all the associated crashes and injuries... Well, this is what it looked like.

Joan Mir has decided to WD from today's GP after the sprint crash. Only 17 bikes in MotoGP.

Moto3 starts in ca. 35 mins.

Still wet for Moto2. Track will never be dry when MotoGP starts.
Drying track races are always the best.

Bezzecchi wins the MotoGP race ahead of Zarco who charged through the pack in the second half of the race (similar to Portimao). Alex Marquez in 3rd. Bagnaia dropped it out of third half-way through the race and finished 16th.

Alex Rins wins the MotoGP race. That's a mild surprise coming into the weekend for sure.
