Kind of off topic, but I just looked up James Toseland through Google to see what he's been doing since his retirement, and was surprised to find this...

Spoiler:
http://www.toselandmusic.com

I knew he was a keen pianist and had got married to Katie Melua but this wasn't what I expected to find.

Hopefully the 2014 entry list should be released shortly, with 24 riders expected to compete in every round. With one wildcard confirmed for Phillip Island (Matt Davies) and Glenn Allerton also planning to do several wildcard races this year, we could see a grid of 26 for the first round.

Also, according to Italian journalist Paolo Gozzi, the final round will be held in Qatar, which would be rather underwhelming.

Alstare Racing have just announced that they will enter two Bimota BB3s in the EVO class, ridden by Ayrton Badovini and Christian Iddon, which brings the total number of manufacturers to 9.

Bimota's back? Now, isn't that amazing!

Just read it shares engine and electronics with the BMW S1000RR, something Badovini knows pretty well.

Subject to homologation of course, which means they have to have built 125 of them before the seasons starts, 1000 by the end of the year and 2000 by the end of next year. And Dorna are unlikely to grant them special dispensation as Flammini might have.

I'm pretty positive Francis Batta received adequate guarantees on this before contracting two riders for a full season. And I can't believe such an experienced manager as Batta is going to have two managerial debacles in a row. :)

However, the price tag of the BB3 is rumoured to be set around 35k Euros. That doesn't exactly scream "millions of units sold".

Dorna have just introduced a new design for the WSB website, which has removed all pre-2000 results and no longer has a rider database. Also, the history section only shows 2013. Either it's a work in progress or Dorna are trying to erase the Flammini history. D:

I'm not surprised tbh.

I actually really like the new layout, but the missing information is disappointing. Not surprising though, as you said; the MotoGP website still has incomplete results for everything pre-98.

Also I guess this means I should hurry up and complete my 2001-2011 results pages.

I'd hate want to be the conspiracy theorist here, but the whole buyout by Dorna just reeks of "let's buy our rival series and start ruining until we make MotoGP look good." to me. I sincerely hope time will tell I'm wrong.

This is pretty much the way I see it going. For every good decision they make, they make 5 bad ones. Fortunately WSB currently has a larger grid than MotoGP and looks like providing better racing.

Also, the one great thing about Dorna is their media production - and they will be offering a WSBK VideoPass this year. If that covers Friday practice like the MotoGP one, I'm already sold.

It's the same bike as last year with almost the same livery. What's wrong? :)

With a Ducati I want some better livery's. The bike is cool, but the livery... Too much white, kinda mikes the bike boring.
