Rossi's penalty: starting last in Valencia. No minus points here. Maybe he'll kick Jorge next time out just to celebrate it.

Pressure is still on Lorenzo, he must finish

Just seen the move. Did Marquez do anything to Rossi in the race?

Yes. Blocking him. Driving slow in corners. He was not racing for victory, but just racing to destroy the race of Rossi. Again (confirmed by Moto GP stewards, but it is not against the rules to drive slowly).
Maybe it was Rossi's fault, but Marquez is driving like a child last two races. It's just a shame that this happened in this great season.

I don't know, but if I was teamboss of Honda today, I would be furious with Marquez not driving for the victory, but only to block Rossi.

What the hell? They were fighting for the 3rd position fair and square. Marquez today didn't have any pace so he tried to achieve 3rd place, what is supposed to do. He always gives his best, like he did in Phillip Island (he didn't let Lorenzo win) and in Jerez a year ago (when in the very last corner he dived down the inside of Jorge, collision included). In my opinion your argument is pointless.

Oh wow. That makes it at least understandable, not that i justify it.

That's pretty low from Marquez. Did anything happen between those that Marquez is that hell bent on getting Lorenzo the title?

It almost feels like the DTM in the early 90s, with all Mercedes drivers helping their title candidate, regardless from which team.

See my latest edit : Race Direction has confirmed that Marquez was deliberate slowing at corners today, but that's not worth a penalty, because it is allowed. It was not a real fight what we saw today. It was just Marquez blocking Rossi, so I can really understand the frustration of Rossi today.

Overtaking Lorenzo at the last lap of Phillip Island doesn't seem very helpful, is it?

You seem to be justifying (I'm not saying you're) Rossi's action. Marquez has done always the same mistake throughout his entire career: overtaking and re-overtaking at the middle of the pack while the ones in front pull away. As I said, he simply had no pace, he went wide owing going over the edge and he believed it was the best for him, if no podium was over. The best thing he could make to benefit Lorenzo was, to let him win in Australia.

Marquez basically got Logano'd

Marquez seriously needs to calm the fuck down - the kid is mega fast but erratic. He'd be in the title fight as well but not for those stupid falls, like Argentina and Mugello.

Checking the stats: this is the closest margin between 2 riders going into the final race of the season since the 80's, possibly earlier.

If he had did it, he wouldn't care as he would have started last next year.

Wanna bet Repsol guys will make it very easy for him? 8) Rossi's mind games blew right back into his face. Plus Lorenzo lambasted him after the race  Rossi's on his own now and he's got only himself to blame.

This was a perfect storm. A war of words followed by some amazing racing. It was breathtaking.

The incident was Rossi's fault but he didn't ultimately make Marquez fall off his bike. The kick didn't do anything. Rossi shouldn't have let his frustrations show in such an obvious and public manner. But you can understand his perspective. Marquez was racing like his life depended on it. Why? That was immensely immature although but what we've become used to with Marquez in 2015.

As for Lorenzo's opinion after the race, well that just validates what Rossi was saying ahead of the race. Lorenzo has a new best friend. Or in other words, Lorenzo needs help from others because he's unable to seal the deal on his own.

This is an ugly situation. Fascinating though and compelling to watch. Bring on Valencia. Go Vale.

"Valentino was of the opinion that Marc was deliberately slowing the pace of the race down and doing so unfairly. We listened to both riders; our opinion was that there was some fault on both sides, but as far as the rulebook goes Marquez did not make any contact, did not break any rules as such, but we feel that his behaviour was causing problems to Rossi who reacted. Unfortunately he reacted in a way that is against the rules.”

A little side note... Pedrosa missed rounds 2-3-4 and yet is now little over one win from Marquez points tally in 3rd place. Dani has only failed to score in one race this season, Marquez has fallen six times. Just goes to show how unstable Marquez has been this season.

Shows the importance of a good bike. Marquez was so impressive the last 2 seasons because his bike was quite amazing, and now that he has to compensate the bike (or is on the same level) he has to push much harder than in the last 2 seasons, which clearly didn't worked out for him. And Pedrosa really needs a season without some sort of bad luck going on, he is like the Robben of MotoGP (always injured).

From his Wiki page

Not really proud what happened today as a Rossi fan, but it sure is going to make the next race quite exciting.

With the introduction of Michelin, Honda improving and Pedrosa back to form, perhaps even a title tilt from him in 2016?
