The Honda a POS this season? Pedrosa 1 sec slower than Stoner. Time will tell but not looking too good for them.

Petrucci, Silva & Ellison look a waste of space but it's good to see 21 bikes in the field.

Honda might be in trouble. Stoner's usually mega around Qatar yet Yamaha look good. Hopefully we have a close, safe year of racing.

What a charming endorsement this is of the efforts these small and brand new teams entered under new rules with little knowledge of their machinery, fielding their relatively inexperienced riders. I think your standards (or understanding of) are a little too high.

Sometimes there are great comments. Then there are comments that make me want to punch a baby seal.

No, they're not too high.

A lot of the CRT riders are good, but Ellison has been tootling around for years now. Silva? He's done nothing for ages. Petrucci I might be wrong about.

I'd much rather see some of the Moto2 guys step up. Pleasantly surprised by Yonni Hernandez's pace.

Ellison is a very good rider who's seldom had a chance at the big time. As for the others, perhaps as a journalist you should be judging their early season performances based on what their teams have been able to achieve in the preparation and testing time they've had with an unknown form of technology? Oh no wait, it's much easy to make rash assumptions.

Those riders being 5 seconds off the ultimate MotoGP pace is an incredible achievement given the specs of the CRT rules and the lack of development these teams have gone through versus the Japanese power houses.

Your comments are akin to people complaining that HRT and Marussia shouldn't be on the F1 grid because they can't lap within 3-4 seconds of a Red Bull.

Ha, if you think I was being harsh you should visit Teddington...

Anyway, Ellison's results have never shone. Sure, he's a good motorcycle racer no doubt about it, but MotoGP? I'm not so sure. And yes of course you need to judge them based on testing or what not. But there's a few new teams with the CRT bikes so just like in F1 with Caterham, Virgin & HRT, they need to be judged equally at first. All teams were given an entry slot and therefore they have the same chances. Regarding Ellison, I'd give him time. You don't write people off this early and I was perhaps a little rash, I'll hold my hands up.

But already this early I have my doubts of Silva. Same bike, but he's 1.7s slower than Hernandez, who is a Moto2 midfielder at best.

I'm not going to judge anyone who's on a CRT machine until later mid-season at earliest, that is unless they continually prove to be a disaster waiting to happen every time they step on the bike.

I like Ellison, always have, but if other people have different opinions then that's their choice. I'm not going to change that nor will I agree. If someone at Teddington says something about someone I wouldn't necessarily trust them as afterall, aren't we always told not to believe everything we read in the press? ;)

As for Hernandez he's no midfielder. He may have not had the greatest Moto2 results but he's already widely accepted as a very exciting talent but needs time to mature.

Morale of the story when considering the new CRT teams and the riders, never judge a book by it's cover :p
