have often wondered what would happen if MM was at back of grid like he was in moto2 a couple of times, always had a feeling he probably could still get near the front if not to the front, and looks like today has gone some of the way to showing that could well be the case, I dont see the proddy Honda's or ART's putting up much of a fight.
The sport is really being moved to another level... 7 in a row is best in MotoGP from VR in 2002, after that we gotta look to Doohan's 10 in a row in 500cc back in 97, kinda thinking 10 in a row is a bit to much these days but 7 could well be on the cards.

Found a bunch of MM records from 2008-2014 some amazing stuff, I assume all are accurate and none are missed by the looks of it haha

Yeah and with slightly bigger wheels too, 17" compared to the 16.5's that Bridgestone make at the mo, dunno how much of a difference this will make other than Pedrosa wont be able to touch the ground

Marquez is from an other level. Yamaha is a worse bike because I think ATM only Lorenzo is able to get him.

iirc longest pole streak in MotoGP was Stoner with 8 in 08, so 1 more to go if counting Valencia 13
