I have a feeling they want to use as few air fences as possible. The history of GP racing is littered with the FIM and circuits not particularly caring about safety conditions. Obviously that has changed greatly over time but the difference in needs of cars and bikes remains.

It was a shocking crash. Reminded me of Rainey a little bit when he dug into the gravel. Also with how the gravel isn't suitable for bikes. Different circumstances with that, but still.

Marquez fast time in Q2, annihilating the lap record with a 1:37.226. 1.5 seconds faster than the previous fastest pole lap. Bagnaia P2, Martin P3.

Bagnaia won the Portimao sprint ahead of Martin and Marquez, Miller was mixing it for the win but used up his tires. Oliveira had a shot too but made a mistake on the final lap.

Marini took out Bastianini who suffered a broken collarbone and will be out in Argentina as well. Guess the Ducati drama this season is DOA already. Bagnaia has a huge chance to build a solid gap in the title race, the Honda of Marquez was losing a ton of time on the straight, even more so than in previous seasons at first glance.

Quite so.

That Honda is a dog.

Weird crash in Moto3 just now, Jack Kelso hit the back of race winner Holgado as he was slowing after the flag, a split second of it was shown live before they cut away but commentators didn't pick up on it until they cut back to Kelso on the ground.

Crash in Moto3 after the finish! Some guys slowed down as usual, Kelso decided not to do that, and at the same time not to watch where he´s going.

Looked like Kelso was pulling a tearoff when it happened. Maybe not the best time to be doing that, crossing the finish line in a Moto3 slipstream.

Nasty hit from Marquez on Oliveira. Oliveira down on the track with medics and no red flag.

Marquez is a fucking idiot.

Honda's a piece of shit and he's overriding it, pushing to be even more aggressive than normal. Which, I feel, won't serve him as well as in the past. He's up against riders who are just as aggressive as him and aren't going to back down.

Oliveira looks fine but pretty dangerous to have a rider, marshalls and doctors standing on the outside of a braking zone like that.

Yeah, I was a little surprised. They got him out of there just barely before the field arrived. I thought that might be a red flag but no.

What an embarrassing race from Marquez. Almost caused 2 massive accidents before he finally succeeded on the 3rd try.

quite a reckless move he did, on 4 wheels that's already a bonehead move, on 2 is dangerous as hell

I enjoyed that race. Battle for 4th was real good.

Biased though because I am a Ducati fan.

Karma seems to have struck. Marquez may have broken a thumb while Oliveira got away with bruising.

Double long lap penalty for MM93 has been sanctioned. Also Jorge Martin suffered a broken toe in the incident. Meanwhile Aleix Espargaro wanted a one-race ban for Marquez.

This race proved that Ducati will be the bike that you want to be on, Aprilia might win a race or two, and Yamaha will be happy if they manage to reach a podium.
