D'oh. You're right. Barry Dodson. I was a bit quick on the draw on that one. Schrader was actually *in* the race and got a good finish that day (6th).

One of my faves also from 1994, Bobby Dotter at the 1:35 mark.

The afore mentioned Hermie Sadler crash

And when Buckshot got dumped by Joe Bessey to win his only BGN race a little after Hermie's red flag

TJ Bell and the inside wall had a nice meeting too.

96 Spring BGN also had some good wrecks, but I taped over it. Thankfully they showed them in the intro to Milwaukee

Barry Dodson was terrible as a TV analyst, always liked Dorsey though, also Ken Weaver was always good for some cautions.

The wrecks in the 1996 Busch race were great, I remember recreating them with my die cast collection.

I think we should all just agree to come here on Sunday evening and at the drop of the green flag work our way through all the videos in this thread.

It'll be a lot more fun than holding the race to the impossibly high standards we have of it now anyway

I love how all the random pit crew members came and just got him out and carried him to pit wall while others put out the fire.

"On the 452nd lap" man Dover used to be an endurance test. I only saw 7 500 mile races there since I just started watching in 94. Just like 500 miles around Rockingham. Now that I think about how to fix current NASCAR, gear them to hit 10k at the end of the straightaway and move em back to 500 mile races. We'll see whose shit doesn't scatter all over the track after that 5 hour stress test.

At least one of those races had a good winner in Derrike Cope.

Nowadays you either get "good race, shitty winner" or "shitty race, shitty winner".

The one Cope won? I just watched the first 50 laps and it is good. When does the bad part start

Didn't Bobby Dotter get injured in that wreck? Don't see how that's cool.

Crazy how Dotter hit so hard with the RF that the LF came off...

I've thought about that before as well. I almost wonder if there was some sort of failure on the LF that cause the crash to begin with.

They mention during the numerous replays it goes down on the LF before he heads for the wall, the spindle broke and the wheel came off with the hub, rotor, and caliper still attached.

I love how this thread went three pages and it's all about past wrecks at Dover.

Which, let's be honest, is an interesting discussion because Dover is one of the worst tracks in terms of runoff (or lack thereof). Makes staying perfect a huge premium, concrete or asphalt.
