I'll be there Friday night! One of our parts suppliers is an associate sponsor on Matt Crafton's truck Splash and FVP. So they have some kinda hospitality deal and race tickets. Should be a great time aside from the predicted race time temp of mid to low 50's. Fall weather came early this year! Yuck.. just saw a high chance of evening rain. Let's hope not.

Going to Salem this weekend. Decent sized field of cars with 33 entered. Last few have had 27-28.

He's really cut back on his schedule this year. It's just awfully hard for him to run after all the stuff that's happened to his team.

The point system will work the same way in the Chase too, right? Top-12 of 16 Chase drivers sorted by wins and then points move on to the 2nd round and then 8 and 4 drivers to round 3 and 4 respectively.

Correct. If any of the top 16 win a race, they automatically make the next round. There are 3 races per tier, so someone will always make it on points. Even in Homestead, at least one of the final four will not have won to qualify for the championship race.

However, once you are knocked out, of any tier, your points revert back to the original Chase reset. So it is possible for someone eliminated in this first segment to still finish as high as 5th in the points.

One of these days there's going to be the hugest blowover or several severe sidewinding snap rolls and no-one will be watching to notice.

OR the dullest race in history but ends up having the leader lose his engine coming out of the final corner and being run into like what happening that Nationwide race a few years ago.

I wonder what the biggest, craziest moment in an otherwise dull as balls race is? :?

Yeah, a lot of those happens at Nascar. I remember a race at Martinsville, the one that Hamlin changed 4 tyres against others with less, after dominating and still won tru 2 GWC.

I invited my friends to watch the crazy race that Martinsville is, and they arrived after lap 300, only a long green run, with everyone letting others by instead of fighting for position, up to that point....

De I don't know about you but I wouldn't hand those tickets out to my worst enemy. Last time I went to Chicagoland for a race I got the tickets for free from a neighbor who couldn't find anyone to take em off his hands.

Seriously, what logical reason is there for anyone not to immediately start slashing the throats of NASCAR leadership?

To be fair, that is the Social Media department coming up with ways to still be employed.

The annoying part of that will be when you put the TV on and the announcers spend as much time talking about "Chase Nation's" as they do about the cars driving around at high speed.
