Its that time, Darlington Raceway, a little earlier this season.

"The Track Too Tough To Tame"
"The Lady in Black"

500 miles around this 1.3 mile, egg shaped race track really tests man and machine. Unquestionably the toughest race of the year mentally and physically. Should see plenty of the famous "Darlington Stripe".

There's also a Nationwide race as well, normally it would be the Kyle Busch show. However with 2 of the sports' up and comers winning the last 2 races, Busch is not gonna have it easy.

It's so fuckin retarded that this race isn't run on Sunday during the day. It's not on Mother's Day weekend so there's no fuckin excuse.

Man, I guess we do like to just bitch. I'm just as guilty, but still. If the powers that be had really had their way, there wouldn't be any race at Darlington.

I love this track and I liked this race here last year. A hard track to pass, and with the new surface, all kinds of strategies can be played, wich is really cool.

Dale Jr hit 215mph at the Michigan tire test this morning. :beard:

As for this race, I love this track. Just wish it was during the day. The sun heating the track up always made for some slippery racing, which created passing opportunities. But as west noted, it's good to be racing here at all.

And for anyone wondering why it's a night race this year when not on Mother's Day weekend... It's on Masters weekend.

Ah yes, I did't think of that. I still think it should be on Sunday though.

Golf bumping NASCAR to a night race... yikes. Grow some balls France. Golf fans and NASCAR fans are like the most polar opposite fan bases I can think of. I like to keep an eye on the Masters, but in this day and age don't most of us have their laptop with them watching the race? Or even a second TV right next to the first one (America!)? Seems like they are bending over for other sports like never before.

Start the thing at noon eastern on sunday.. green flag waving at noon not an hour of dicking around.. and be done by 3-3:30 before the finish of the masters and it's not a problem.

Didn't look at the schedule so didn't know they moved the Mother's Day race date to Kansas... Idiots. Fine, they want to do that, it's cool. Then move the finale to Atlanta and give Darlington back the Sourthern 500 on it's real date. Atlanta and Darlington are destined to only have one date? OK, then make them mean something. Atlanta ended the season for decades, and Darlington, well, we all know that one. Homestead can be run the week before the finale, all three touring division can and have raced at Atlanta and they can even run under the lights.

I think many of us would love to see the Southern 500 back on Labor Day. Putting it back there just makes sense all around. I hope this is something that comes about from these "schedule rumors" we keep hearing for the new TV package in 2015.

There is no logical explanation for two Cup races at Kansas. Ever.

Darlington's a great track. Let's just appreciate the racing on it we get.

Over/under on the phrase "we call that the hospital wobble right there" being used across the weekend?
I say 4
