nobody really cares about this

like, fucking nobody

NASCAR won't look bad, because nothing will happen to them. Nobody will say anything.

All hail the iron fist & rulebook written in pencil. :flag:

let's use the whole track...they can go 10 wide :) :flag:

Half the field ends up in a pile sometime in the last 10 laps anyway so what the hell.

Great news about AJ getting a ride though.

I read the new statements, and I still don't agree with them. This thread is done.

I thought you were leaving until the next plate race? :flag:

Isn't that the only reason he's ever here, Daytona and Talladega?

Hey did they ever show a replay from Stewart's rear camera? I'd really like to see that.

With all the new rules/driver hypes/chase senarios happening in Nascar today, Daytona and Talladega are the only races worth watching anymore, mostly for the good racing series, like ARCA and CTS.

So with that, I have no more to say in this thread.

from NASCAR: Post-Race Comments from NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter Talladega Superspeedway, Oct. 5, "You cannot improve your position anytime you go below the yellow line. In our judgment, he (Regan Smith) improved his position and the penalty for that is a pass thru, so he was moved back to the tail end of the longest line or 18th position. At the driver's meeting, we clearly state that you cannot improve your position by going below the yellow line. We do not feel he was forced below the yellow line. Anytime you get into a situation like this, there are going to be two different opinions. We respect Regan's view, but we made the call, we think it's the right call and the finish is final. NASCAR has to maintain some kind of control – and that's the reason we say, you cannot advance your position by going below the yellow line. If he had not improved his position, he probably would have been awarded 2nd place."(NASCAR)(10-5-2008)

Seems pretty clear to me.

It does me too. Clear to me that if it had been Jimmie Johnson making the pass below the yellow line that since Jim Hunter runs NASCAR these days and we always see him with that stupid yellow NASCAR 48 hat on his head, the pass would have stood and Jimmie Johnson would have been the winner.

In all seriousness though. I gained a lot of respect for Jimmie in that during the post race press conference on ESPNews... he said that in the drivers meeting it was said you could pass below the yellow line on the last lap.

Final analysis. Jim Hunter is a faggot and will rot in hell and deserves to be on the face stabbing list from earlier in the thread. Good day!

I hate NASCAR more than I ever have now that even the SPEED channel guys on HotPass said that NASCAR gave them clarification the day before that you can pass below the yellow line on the last lap.
