Could be wrong but I wouldn't expect a plate change for the trucks. If you actually look at the run-down instead of the top guy alone, you'll see that the speeds taper off rather quickly to 189 and 188.

Well when you have all 33 trucks together in a pack I would think they would be more consistant, who knows. Also, James Buescher won the pole for tomorrow's ARCA race, Ricky Carmichael will start 9th.. Top 10 not to bad.

The thing with the trucks isn't the speed, it's the closing rate and turbulence.

It would take a drastic change in plates to really have an effect on that I think. The trucks' closing rate has much more to do with aero than the amount of horsepower they have at their disposal. I think the CoT is more balanced with power and drag in that area.

Get off of work at 4:00 tomorrow so I'll have some time to relax after getting home. Need to rest up to watch the ARCA race. Should be pretty good. This shall be an awesome weekend of racing!

For some reason, I always get excited for the ARCA races at Daytona and Talladega, but then they turn out to be shitty. I'm hoping that I'm wrong, but my expectations for the ARCA race are pretty low.

I think it's because the finish usually gives a bitter taste in our mouths. (2005 Daytona being a good exception) There are usually good wrecks and exciting racing, but at the end there aren't many good competitors left to challenge eachother like at the beginning.

At least that's what I think.

According to Jayski,Joey Logano will no longer drive the #96 car this year.

Quote:
# Hall of Fame Racing, JGR decide to remove Logano from #96: Joey Logano will no longer pilot Hall of Fame Racing's #96 Toyota in 2008, team co-owner Tom Garfinkel told ESPN.com Tuesday. Garfinkel said the decision was mutual between his team and Joe Gibbs Racing, for whom Logano is under a multi-year driving contract. "It's a joint decision," Garfinkel said. "We talked to Gibbs and both decided that, for [Logano's] development and for our team, this the best thing for all of us. The best thing for all of us is for them to focus on Joey's development, and us to focus on our team." Seeking to gain experience in preparation for his 2009 rookie campaign in Gibbs' #20 Toyota, Logano was scheduled to run five of the final 10 races of the current season in the Hall of Fame #96 -- a Gibbs satellite operation. He was to return to the #96 at Lowe's Motor Speedway next week, and also was scheduled to drive for Hall of Fame at Martinsville Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Sprint Cup veteran Ken Schrader will drive the #96 at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend, and likely the rest of the season. Joe Gibbs Racing officials were not immediately available for comment.(ESPN.com)(9-30-2008)

Awesome, I was hoping for this, for Schrader to be asked to continue on beyond Dega in that car.

Last years finish would have been tits if Kimmel hadn't left Colin Braun out by himself..

Looks like they paved over the grass that Kyle Busch flipped in during the Busch race in 2007

I thought the majority of that crash happened on tarmac anyway? Certainly the flip and a large portion of the roof sliding..

Is there going to be any of the in-field left that's not tarmaced? :?

Yes, but he rolled a bunch of times when he hit the grass. Obviously you can still roll on pavement if you get flipped the right way, but there was really no reason for there to be grass there.

They paved it this past spring race. I don't know if it's just me but the grass in a couple spots gave the track some character, rather than the infield looking a big parking lot.

Hopefully there will be a quick cap of the ARCA race in RU or the fish community. I don't think i'll be home by the time the race starts.

There's a repeat on Speed 7 hours after the original start time if that helps.
It's 5am my time and I'm hoping to just be back in from my night out in time for it :)

THAT'S IF THE FREAKING CHANNEL STOPS HAVING TECHICHAL DIFFICULTIES ANYWAY *RAGE*
