Marc Davis anyone? He's a JGR development driver.. And he's been doing a stellar job in the CWS.

Marc Davis's numbers are solid and he's a pretty good little driver, but when you compare his numbers to Logano's in similar equipment he isn't even close. If Joey couldn't do anything in the 96 Marc sure as hell won't.

It may sound random and insignificant but I hope it's cloudy and overcast on raceday. There's just something different about plate racing, especially at Talladega, when the sun is obscured. For me it adds to the drama and excitement. Maybe it's just the whole mystic folklore behind Talladega that gives me that feeling.

I like the early '90s-'96 or so summer near-dusk look.

This.

I wished they hadn't painted the walls. The unpainted, rusted-off walls looked real cool, and kind of added to the atmosphere.

According to Jayski's, Logano will be in the #59 HT Motorsports Toyota Tundra for the CTS race this weekend after Ted Musgrave left the team at Las Vegas. Any word on how that came about? Anyway.. the #59 had quite a few decent runs this season, looking forward to seeing what Joey boy can do with it.

ALSO: Kenny Wallace will replace MIchael McDowell for the cup race in the #00.

Awesome, I love Kenny.

Can anybody verify this? I know Logano was entered into the Talladega ARCA race so he can get that NASCAR Superspeedway license or whatever it was.

1. Does he get the license right away? Or at the end of the season? (I'm assuming the former, since he's entered for the CTS race the next day)
2. OR, is the license only for the top division? And CTS doesn't require such a license?

Damn, I have class while the Arca race is running, but I'm really looking foward to the trucks. Every time they race at plate tracks (except this year's Daytona) it has been a great show. I'd hope they'll get smart early on and save the big wrecks for the end so the racing will overall be exciting.

Yeah I hear you. Every time I have to miss a plate race, regardless of the series, it turns out to be insane..... and I have to miss the truck race Saturday. :(

Good for us then. :p

If anyone wants to check out the ARCA live timing and scoring for practice it's pretty awesome, they are playing team communication and it's fairly interesting. They ARE doing drafting runs today, and apparently from the radio chatter one of the Cope's is attempting to race this weekend.. "Stop right there, there is a cope infront of you." No idea who's team it was who said that.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the #99 Aflac Ford was fastest in the first ARCA practice with a lap of 190.181 mph. Ricky Carmichael was 18th on the board, Joey Logano was 25th and Scott Speed 28th as notables.

Interesting to see Mark Thompson back again driving for the Roulo Brothers team.

Hope Casola can find some more speed between now and the race.

Extremely fast speeds for the trucks in first practice and final practice is underway. Jon Wood was fastest with a lap of 192.073 mph. 8O ARCA qualifying is set to roll off in about an hour, live timing and scoring at http://www.arcaracing.com

I feel a plate size change coming for the trooks, I don't recall them ever reaching those speeds, guess we'll see after final practice..

Assuming that was sarcasm.. :p Marc Mitchell ran a lap of 193.832 mph during last year's race, I'm not sure how many trucks Jon Wood was drafting with today but that is still a fast speed for 1st practice. Last years qualifying speed was over 10 mph slower at 181.811 mph..
