The truck and arca race will be great. The pendulum may swing either way on the sprint cup but hopefully not.

I'm looking forward to the ARCA race more than the Trucks race. Hopefully there will be some nice racing in the Cup race like last season...and please not a yellow flag finish!!

The ARCA race is starting at 5pm ET. Same time as the last two years, both which were shortened due to lack of daylight. :( They really need to install lights, I don't care if it's for night racing but just ensure the race goes the advertised distance.

One change to the truck entry list:

Former Rensi wrecking machine Richard Johns will pilot the 89 Lafferty Motorsports Chevrolet.

I could have sworn they shortened it by ten laps after Scott Speed's bump drafting incident on the backstretch, I could be wrong though.

According to Jayski,Joey Logano will no longer drive the #96 car this year.

Quote:
# Hall of Fame Racing, JGR decide to remove Logano from #96: Joey Logano will no longer pilot Hall of Fame Racing's #96 Toyota in 2008, team co-owner Tom Garfinkel told ESPN.com Tuesday. Garfinkel said the decision was mutual between his team and Joe Gibbs Racing, for whom Logano is under a multi-year driving contract. "It's a joint decision," Garfinkel said. "We talked to Gibbs and both decided that, for [Logano's] development and for our team, this the best thing for all of us. The best thing for all of us is for them to focus on Joey's development, and us to focus on our team." Seeking to gain experience in preparation for his 2009 rookie campaign in Gibbs' #20 Toyota, Logano was scheduled to run five of the final 10 races of the current season in the Hall of Fame #96 -- a Gibbs satellite operation. He was to return to the #96 at Lowe's Motor Speedway next week, and also was scheduled to drive for Hall of Fame at Martinsville Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Sprint Cup veteran Ken Schrader will drive the #96 at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend, and likely the rest of the season. Joe Gibbs Racing officials were not immediately available for comment.(ESPN.com)(9-30-2008)

The #00 is outside the Top 35 in owner's points, which may be the primary reason why Kenny Wallace is entered in that car.

I did too, but it seems like the team doesn't even know who is supposed to be driving the car anymore.

According to Jayski's, Logano will be in the #59 HT Motorsports Toyota Tundra for the CTS race this weekend after Ted Musgrave left the team at Las Vegas. Any word on how that came about? Anyway.. the #59 had quite a few decent runs this season, looking forward to seeing what Joey boy can do with it.

ALSO: Kenny Wallace will replace MIchael McDowell for the cup race in the #00.

I know that Musgrave crashed the 59 in practice for the Las Vegas race. Then they made the change just before the race to replace him but Compton ended up wrecking in the race as well.

God that 96 needs to get a driver. They did all this driver shuffling and then they agree to put Jesus in the car and all it's done is screw them even more. One more year of this and the team will be out.
