Cup and NNS make the first of 2 annual trips to the fast and bumpy Texas Motor Speedway. Last years Cup race has a 230 lap green flag run.

Trucks are going to the famed Rockingham Speedway for what should be a great race

I read that Kyle Larson is going to run the truck race at Rockingham in the #30 truck. I guess he's going to be pulling double-duty this weekend.

It's not like he's not used to that, eh?

Nice to see Ken Schrader fielding an entry in truck series again. I knew he was going to run Eldora in his own truck but I didn't know he was going to field an entry in other races as well.

I also read that Spencer Gallagher is planning on running 7 races this year and maybe running for Rookie of the Year in 2014.

I like these kids getting a shot at big rides but I feel like we all are in period where we will see "our young guy is better than yours"... Then they flame out. Example Kyle Larson. Dude is flavor of the week. After the Logano hype, I gotta see years of racing in the bigs before I crown him the next big thing.

Ya. Looks like some good cars are set to miss both races. Hopefully Johanna makes the NNS race and all of those Key valet parkers miss.

A lot of guys get rushed in a bit too quickly. Logano turned 18, ran a few Nationwide races, then went right to Cup - no "development years" in Nationwide, just a few months' worth of races.

I like what Childress is doing with the Dillon boys. They may be running on grampy's money, but he's holding them back long enough so they can learn properly. I've heard that EGR doesn't want to rush Larson, so that's good.

I hope that's the case. Larson def looks like he has talent but it scares me they (the media) are gonna put him on that level that Atwood was and Logano and the weight of the pressure will hurt him like the others. Logano was fortunate to get another shot, Atwood not so much.

Larson will probably run some Cup races for Chip next year while running a second full season in Nationwide but once his contract with them is up, I definitely see him going to one of the top teams before starting his full-time Cup career.

Yep, and I'm hoping they take their time with Chase Elliott as well.

I really think Alex Bowman is one of those sleeper talents. He gets lost in there sometimes but the kid has had a good year sitting 10th in NNS points for RAB Racing.

Honestly, I'm expecting Turner-Scott to buy out Earnhardt-Ganassi. That's how they started their Nationwide operation, and it would be easier than starting from scratch.

I don't think Ganassi would sell. I could definitely see Turner-Scott buying out Theresa Earnhardt.

I would love to see Ganassi get bought out by a team that actually cares about stock car racing.
