The Danica gravy train rolls into the west coast. Oh, and that Jimmie Johnson guy won some race or something.

Normal service is resumed.

Nationwide's new maximum grid size making a lot of sense right now.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

If it was still at 43 I guess we'd have seen some hobbled together pieces of shit run two laps then park.

Looks like it hasn't stopped Curtis Key from bringing two of his parkmobiles to the race tho.

Two Nationwide teams that appearently had announced plans to run the full season aren't entered. One is the #8 car of Scott Lagasee Jr. and the other was Dexter Stacy's #92 car. I see at least 3 start and parks on the Nationwide Entry List. Jeff Green's #10 and two Curtis Key cars are definate start and parks, I think. I wasn't expecting to see Jimmie Johnson in the #5 car.

I think this is going to be the first true test of the Gen 6 car. Lets see how they do on a flat track where drafting isn't a factor. I know the drivers feel that the racing will be better on the non-plate tracks. We'll see how their testing findings translate into a race with 43 cars on the track.

I've heard a lot on the satellite station over the winter that this car drives more like the pre-COT, which suited some other drivers much better than the switch to the CoT. I know Gordon and Earnhardt were a couple of the guys they mentioned were much happier with the feel of the G6 in testing. No need to panic yet.

This is an overreaction.

Look at Johnson's Phoenix results, there is reason to be worried.

Matters not. Gen6 is still a new car.

Yeah, cos he don't have sucess when a new car is in town. :D

Just kidding, who knows what's going to happen. Chad and Jimmie probably will be up the front, but I think they should have some company. Curious to see how Jeff Gordon will perform this season.

Looking forward to this one.
This is a real good test for the Gen6 car and then the big test at Vegas later on.
Sure hope they race good at the 1,5 miles but that's for next week.

Anyway, Phoenix is a good track, the only thing I hate about the new layout is the paved area on the 'backstretch'.

I think Jimmie's biggest advantage was in the COT's first year. It was insanely tight by nature and to go fast, a very loose setup was required, which suited his style perfectly as well as others like Kyle, both of whom had, I think, around 8 wins that season. While guys like Jr and Gordon needed a neutral balance, which they could make go fast with the gen-4 car but not with the COT. With the gen-6 being supposedly more like gen-4 according to those two guys, the playing field should be more even again? We can only hope.

Kyle dominated until they got to the Chase then he blew up in Loudon and Dover

Yep. If Kyle doesn't find a way to meltdown in the Chase, Gibbs will!

I'm looking forward to this race. All this gen4 talk has me excited. The attitude of the gen5 cars on track was terrible, IMO. Even if the race 'sucks,' if these cars can kick the rear our on corner exit, I'll be happy.

Yes Jimmie has had a great track record here but his avg since the reconfig is 16.66, much different than the insane string of top 5's he was ripping off prior.
