The site:

So, if the race sucks, fans won't blame NASCAR!

The fans can now vote on the starting lineup. They can vote to line the cars up based on: practice speeds, car number, or 2012 Owners Points.

The voting link doesn't show these options. Weird.

I saw this the other day. I like it.

Wonder if JNR NTN will be able to figure out which of those options puts Dale Jr closest to the front.

Car Number means Horse Face starts last.

Practice speed could be someone random if they get a good draft

Owner Points sucks.

Still don't see the option. I did vote on the other stuff that was up. Why would you want to eliminate cars from the last segment?

To clarify FHgrad's comment, the starting lineup stipulation will be determined by fans at the track, not online.

If Junior is fast in practice it'll be pretty obvious which option they pick.

I have a suspicion NASCAR and DIS just couldn't find a sponsor for the event, and Sprint jumped in to save their asses provided the speedway played by their rules.

So if there is a huge crash and 7 drivers are left going into the final segment... Let's say the fans voted to eliminate 6 drivers, then what? 1 car runs the remaining laps and wins? Or even 2-3 cars? WTF

I know the fans are pretty fucking dumb, but I still have enough faith in them to vote against eliminating drivers from competition. That's like going to a strip club and begging bitches to keep their clothes on.

Wait what? There are segments?

*facepalm*

Edit: it has just come to my attention that this race has had segments for years now. I literally did not know that

I voted for that, just to see the mayhem that seg 2 would be. Plus it's something totally new. We can decide it, so let's vote for something that would NEVER be accepted otherwise. Feel the power. :)

We're going to need a chart to keep track of all of the stuff that could be voted on.

*Still waits for NASCAR to make some bullshit rule that includes Brad Keselowski and Clint Bowyer in this race

Needs a driver fan vote IMO and an invert, maybe have drivers swap cars in the last segment. Fans could even have a remote to explode a certain drivers tire at a random point to bring out a caution in the first segment. And then that driver could get in a provided back up car like IROC. At the end of the race the fans get to vote on who they wanted to win, and that driver wins the race regardless of finishing position.

They should run it to the old "black flag" race rules that Webby devised in the 70's for an exhibition race at Brands, the field would run say 10 laps, then the organisers would start black flagging the last car on track at the end of each lap, until you got down to a realistic figure to have a 5 lap shootout with.

Post subject:  Re: Speedweeks 2013

Why don't they just do 1 30 lap segment and call it a day? Just do a random draw for positions, no gimmicks.

I voted for whatever format has the 15 for the last seg. Figure 20 was too long and with all the wrecking that will probably happen, 10 was too short.
