They are talking about trying to get a bit of a pack together for the 1 PM session.

God I hope so. I mean they may be saying some good stuff on the broadcast but I have to have it on mute at work so watching single car runs is hard.

I hope i am wrong but I have a bad feeling that these cars are going to be hard to run side by side whenever they group up this afternoon

I actually wouldn't mind it if the cars don't handle well in the pack. Over the last couple years they had gotten too bunched up and easy to drive and suck up. The old surface at Daytona had done the job of getting the cars handling and sliding around without actually ruining the racing (it rather enhanced it, IMO). So now with the glass smooth pavement, the cars have to change to keep from having the cloud of cars effect. That last lap at Talladega in the fall was just plain stupid, and my opinion wouldn't have changed if they had all made it to the line intact.

Blaney just spun off T2 and popped the wall with the right front. By himself...

Sounds like oil/fluid of some sort was on the track.

That REALLY sucks. Their test is done.

I was a little wrong on the materials earlier. Here's the correct info, just given by Hammond:

Roof/sides are sheet metal.

Nose/hood/decklid/rear piece are composite.

I have to say the morning coverage has been some of the best racing coverage I've seen in a long time.

Just happened to notice that one of his roof flaps started to come up and his car never really turned completely sideways at all. Great save there by Biffle.

How is that pack looking? Super tight? A little wiggle room? Old school? Unable to watch. Thanks
