Five years ago, Brad started out puttering around in the rear of the field driving Keith Coleman's crapbox in the Busch Series.

You couldn't tell a soul back in 2007 that he would be a Sprint Cup champion in 5 years, or tell them the Keselowski name would be destined for anything but mediocrity.

That's what I love about this championship.

There's a funny story I read last night on Jim Utter's Twitter about one of Brad's first Busch Series races where he loses his brakes.

I mentioned this on my Twitter, and actually heard Brad mention this to Jimmie just now on Speed... but if you take away Jimmie Johnson's problems, Brad doesn't finish 15th. He finishes 16th, and wins the title by 1 point.

Disappointing to see the 48 have problems, because that would have been epic.

you dont know that.

Shit, son, you're right. No I don't. What I said was theoretical. I apologize that that was apparently lost on you.

One would have assumed Brad was going for it at 100% even after having to pit for fuel; he could have binned it, and he still would have won the title. So, if he was going all out and finished 15th, who is to say it wouldn't have ended up the other way?

Then again, if that butterfly hadn't farted in China all those years ago....

Hey guys, remember two weeks ago when the kid says that he's done with NASCAR because Jimmie Johnson is going to rape everyone again?

He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

For me, this kid's happiness actually casts a small bit of disappointment on the result now.

It must be the focal length, but they look like cardboard cutouts in that last shot. Especially Ricky Stenhouse.

Mark this down as the first time I've enjoyed a David Caraviello column.
