It's off to sunny South Florida, where champions are crowned. All three titles are on the line...

Brad Keselowski.

Born into a Midwestern family with racing flowing in their veins. Grandfather Ron, a longtime competitor in Cup, ARCA, and USAC Stock Cars in the 60's and 70's. Father Bob, 1989 ARCA Champion and Truck Series stalwart in the 90's. The world got their first taste of Brad in a big way, pulling off an upset victory for Phoenix Racing at Talladega in 2009, much to the chagrin of an airborne Carl Edwards. Despite a Nationwide title in 2010, he could only muster lackluster results in Penske's unloved third Cup car. Nobody knew what to expect when he took over the Blue Deuce last season. As it turned out, he would shatter everyone's expectations that year, and improved on it in a big way this season with 5 victories.

Now he controls his destiny with a 20-point advantage over Jimmie Johnson. "Five-Time" is looking to become "Six-Time", but has a rather tough challenge ahead of him after a tire mishap at Phoenix cost him his 7-point lead. Regardless, if any man is capable of doing it, it's him. A 15th place finish or better at Homestead will secure Brad his first Sprint Cup championship, Roger Penske's first Sprint Cup championship, and Dodge's first Sprint Cup championship since "King Richard" took his Charger to a title in 1975, in what will ironically be the manufacturer's NASCAR swan song.

Meanwhile, defending Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has a pretty comfy points lead going into Homestead, as he seeks a second straight title. Should next year's Sprint Cup Rookie of The Year contender have a mishap, he'll have the RCR duo of Elliott Sadler (20 points behind) and Austin Dillion (25 points behind) ready to pounce.

And in the Trucks, it's a triple-threat showdown. James Buescher, seemingly poised to leave Phoenix with an almost insurmountable lead, had his hopes dashed with just 5 laps to go at the hands of an unreliable Goodyear tire. The Turner Motorsports driver must defend his points lead against two of his hungriest competitors: Red Horse Racing's top thoroughbred Timothy Peters, and "The Kid in Black (and camo)" Ty Dillon of RCR, looking to give the Dillon brothers back-to-back Truck titles. They are 11 and 12 points behind Buescher respectively.

Sweetest thing about the prospect of Brad winning the cup for me is Denny and Earl having to eat their "inexperienced guy doesn't know how to race" words.

I get what you're saying but those comments were two years ago. Sort of waters down the irony at this point.

I think Johnson winning another title is the last thing NASCAR needs.

If Brad wins this, it'll be the first time since Terry in 96 that I have actually been pleased with the champion. Feels good man. It's not over though, and I am super nervous already that some epic bs will go down and JJ will somehow win this.

It's still way too close for comfort. Too many things could go wrong for Brad.

As a Terry Labonte fan for years and years, I agree whole heartedly with Dr. Dog.

The last time I was happy with a champion was 2000.

If you stop and think about it, how much would a championship mean to Roger Penske? Look at everything his racing team has accomplished in motorsports, the Indy 500 wins, the Indy Car championships, the Daytona 500 win and all of the other races his teams have won but this is biggest thing that is still missing from Roger Penske's racing resume. He's been close in the past with Rusty, in particular but Penske has never had the title in their grasp like they do right now. If Brad Keselowski can pull this off Sunday, how would this rank with everything else that Penske has done in racing?

I think Penske's resume would be complete. And that would make him the only motorsports owner to have driver championships in both Sprint Cup and IndyCar.

Penske would be one happy camper for sure. I think it would mean even more than some of his open-wheel championships just because of how it has never been his organization's strong suite, right from the very early days when Mark Donohue set out to tame the AMC Matador (which BTW is my favorite chapter in his book just because of how honest he was in admitting that he underestimated the challenge).

Funny how the only major team running AMC's in the 70's is the only major team running Dodge's today.

Funny how Dodge might finally win their first championship since returning to the sport just before pulling out of it again.

What are the odds we see Bowyer and Jeff go after it again?

Jaff is on probation but Bowyer isn't.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I'd say slim. NASCAR probably considers this the end of it. The fact that they penalized him is also sort of a message to Bowyer that they've handled it and not to start anything else.

The penalties were just handed down and Jeff Gordon got probation but Bowyer didn't.

I'm assuming, from a logical standpoint, that if shit hits the fan and Gordon goes crazy next week resulting from some Bowyer revenge plot, they could park him for next year's Daytona 500, right?
