Pathetic NASCAR, they made such a huge deal out of what Kes did at Daytona.

And of course they're sponsored by a big cell phone service company. Just another wrench to be thrown in there.

I figured NASCAR would have to penalize Brad for that, it's not a good look using a phone behind the wheel, even if the car isn't moving. There are enough crashes and fatalities caused by distracted driving these days that this should be a no-brainer.

Then they should sent him a message after Daytona. If they think tweeting in-car isn't okay, don't do it now after you milk what happened at Daytona to death.

To be fair, it was in the rulebook, assuming added after Daytona.

NASCAR Rulebook wrote:
20-6.7A (cars and drivers will not be permitted to carry onboard computers, automated electronic recording devices, electronically actuated devices, power distribution modules, power conditioners, micro-processors, recording devices, electronic digital memory chips, traction control devices, digital readout gauges and the like, even if inoperable or incomplete).

i've always felt that what drivers do on the track is nascar's business, and what drivers do when they get out of their cars is their own business. retaliation on the track should be regulated by nascar, simply because the possibility of serious injury (or worse) is present.

if drivers want to pull over and discuss things like men, then i think "have at it" should be the only entry in the rulebook.

Was Clint given any warning, or is he free to try and kill Jeff at Homestead?

I know I'm a couple of days late, but seriously, it's pathetic. I could not believe that a champion like Jeff would even consider doing what he did. Edwards, Danica, Kyle. Screw you all. You're driving a weapon that has the power to kill someone. I dont' care how safe the cars are now. You payback after the race, or a short track. And NASCAR, f*** you for allowing this to continue to happen.

No probation for Clint, he can do what he wants.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I thought Clint did get probation? If he didn't nascar would basically be saying 'please wreck jeff next week.'

Only his crew chief is on probation for failing to control his crew.

Good calls on the penalties I'd say. Probably should've parked Gordon, but didn't really think that would happen.

Another thing I forgot to point out, Kyle was already on probation when he got suspended.

Personally speaking if certain drivers can't mix it up with other drivers due to the chase then why race them in the same race? One thing I've noticed in the last few year is the quality of competition between chasers and non chasers diminishes greatly the closer the end of the season comes.
