Overall: worth watching.

Congrats NASCAR, you've put on one non-plate Non Road Course race worth watching this year, you must be SO PROUD!

If you said Kansas would be that race, I would've called you a fool.

Well, I am a fool, but yeah no-one could've ever predicted a re profiling actually making a track better.

Take note other NASCAR tracks, this is the blueprint for how you get a track remodeling to actually WORK.

Now do your homework as to WHY this worked and apply it to your track if you're due a repaving any time soon....

It worked because Goodyear sucks.

Makes no sense, Goodyear sucks every week and that ruins the racing, not improves it.

Goodyear sucking+??????=Profit???

It was Kansas, there was very little they could do that would have made it worse tbh.

The harder tire that commentators often pointed out during the race broadcast was the cause. He was refering to that possible error Goodyear made in picking the tire they wouldnt have wanted. Unfortunate for them. ;)

Yup, the tyre problems at Charlotte in 2006 and Indy in 2008, in particular Goodyear's issues with building tyres that last under the COT (which is a lot harder on right sides) has lead to the concrete rubber compound and predictable racing we have now. Goodyear got so much shit for those debacles that they took things in the other direction to the extreme. Hoping next year's car allows a better compromise in compound, NASCAR's not saying anything about tyres though which is a bit concerning.

The tyre problems at Indy could be blamed on NASCAR not doing a pre race test there, they decided to go to Pocono instead

You can only blame the tyres so many times. Besides a lot of the wrecks were from pushing the car over the limit. That's racing.
