Took Kenseth over half the race to get his f'ing lap back. Ugh. Then they went caution free, so he had a ton of ground he had to try to make up.

I thought it was pretty boring, but I also hate fuel mileage races.

Yeah, Kes got hosed on fuel mileage. Wasn't that much of a disastrous night as Jenna Fryer made it out to be, but he did lose ground in the points standings.

Meanwhile, the ARCA race at DuQuoin got canned...again. Sad part: no reschedule. F1 is Mother Nature's favorite.

I live near St. Louis and it did rain pretty hard overnight here, so I would guess DuQuoin got the same rain we got here last night. It's a shame that mother nature didn't want this race to run.

Dan Belcher and I made it out to Du Quoin, just to find out the race is canceled this morning, just like it was Labor Day weekend. I feel bad for the teams, wish ARCA could've planned this a bit better.

Hell, they oughta race at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis when they go up there this year for the banquet in December. It's a mile dirt, after all! :p

Not sure what Duquoin's surface is exactly (I know it's dirt, but there are variety's of dirt. Syracuse used to be more of a cinder material, this year they put down a ton of clay. Then it rained and it took FOREVER to get the track ready) but depending on the amount of rain and what composition the surface is, it could've been days before the track was ready to race.

Dirt can either be awesome and ready to go in 30 mins, or finicky as all hell and never cooperate with you.

Cup race was good for a nap. 2013 can get here soon enough.

To answer 2 questions posed earlier about Jr.
1) Sitting down due to the concussion was a great move. If the new cars drive more like the old ones, then I think Jr. will stick around for a while. He's never really liked this new car so I hope the new ones suit his driving style better.
2) Yes, NASCAR needs Dale Jr. like the crops need the rain. There was maybe 75-80K by the looks of it at Charlotte. That place seats double that.

NASCAR's attendance problems are best fixed one of two ways: 1) Jr. is a consistent winner, 2) Jr. wins a title.

People on this board won't agree with that because we all have our favorites and most of us aren't Jr. fans. But If NASCAR's most popular driver for the last umpteen years despite not doing shit with good equipment actually started winning regularly, those seats would be filled.

It is completely unfair to Jr. but you can change whatever you want racing wise and the people may or may not come back. Get that boy to victory lane 4-5 times a year and the butts will be in the seats guranteed.

It is what it is.

You can't script the Cubs to win the World Series if they aren't good enough. You can't script the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl if they aren't good enough. And you certainly can't script Jr. into 4-5 victories or even a championship if he isn't good enough, contrary to the crazy wet dreams Brian France has about it.

Normally I'd post race photos here, but since there was no ARCA race, I'll post video of Dan Belcher and I playing an arcade game at Madisonville's "Mall" (it's tiny, mostly empty, but has an arcade!)

This is what we played:

Enjoy the wild driving, cheesy cut scenes and bad commentary from yours truly!

Might have to put them up on YouTube, since Facebook's video stuff sucks.
