Cup moves to Charlotte for the only night race of the Chase on the original cookie cutter track. NNS also races here this week on the first of 3 1.5's in succession.

DuQuoin isn't a short track. It's a 1 mile dirt track.

I think these days, for some reason, 1 mile tracks are considered as short tracks. Don't know why. The traditional short track is 1/2 mile, dirt or paved.

Many people, including drivers, think of tracks like Milwaukee or DuQuoin in the same vein as a short track because they race and 'feel' like short tracks I guess, despite the length.

Also have the Whelen Southern Modified Tour at Charlotte on the 1/4 mile after qualifying. No TV coverage yet again -_-

Well that's a bummer...

From watching the replay, he got hit pretty hard in behind the driver's door once by Bobby Labonte, and a second time by Tony Stewart as the wreck was finishing up. Never really noticed that until now!

Holy crap. Well, that's pretty big news. Quite smart on either Jr.'s, Hendricks, NASCAR's or all 3 to sit out a few races. No sense in putting yourself in jeopardy when this season's bid for the title is toast anyways.

Wow some people are stupid, saying they parked Jr for his comments after the race...

There are not enough facepalm pics for such comments.

Good call to keep him out of the car for the concussion. Remember in 2004? when he got that one after the hit in California? He stated that he felt that all year long.

Love how people are also blaming Tony Stewart for giving Dale Jr. a concussion.

Turns out it's Jr's second concussion in 6 weeks. He had an undiagnosed concussion after crashing at the Kansas tyre test.
