Quote:
Pocono Race named Pocono 400 Presented by #NASCAR: Pocono Raceway announced a relationship with Twitter. The June 10, Pocono 400 will be renamed the Pocono 400 Presented by #NASCAR. The renaming of the first of two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events annually held at "The Tricky Triangle," comes two weeks after @NASCAR and @Twitter announced a unique digital partnership with the creation of twitter.com/#NASCAR, launching this week at Pocono Raceway. The twitter.com/#NASCAR event page will feature Tweets that bring fans closer to everything that unfolds during the Pocono 400. Pocono Raceway will launch several Twitter-based initiatives throughout the Pocono 400 Presented by #NASCAR race weekend. One such program will be a "Tweet Your Seat" contest, occurring during pre-race activities on Sunday, June 10, where one randomly-selected fan will become the Honorary Starter and wave the green flag to start the race. Additionally, "The Tricky Triangle" will be hosting a Fan Fair Scavenger Tweet Hunt, with a Tweet Up to follow, on Sunday, June 10, starting at 8:30 a.m. ET. The Tweet Hunt, open to the first 50 teams of two to arrive at the Flag Pole, located outside Fan Fair and behind the Grandstands, will be solely Twitter-based, meaning all participants must have a mobile device connected to their Twitter accounts. More information will be explained throughout the race weekend via the Raceway's Twitter handle and website.(Pocono Raceway)(6-4-2012)

Fuck that. Makes me wanna puke.

CUP: Twitter Overkill 400 (12:00 PM EST Sunday, TNT/RaceBuddy)
ARCA: Pocono ARCA 200 (1:30 PM EST Saturday, presumably SpeedTV
Truck: WinStar World Casino 400K (8:30 PM EST Friday, SpeedTV)
Other: Prelude to the Dream (8:00 PM EST Wednesday, Pay-Per-View - see below)

The rule involving live streaming for the Prelude to the Dream still applies. Don't even think about it.
Quote:
Since it's a charity event, and since the proceeds to this event go to various charities (this includes the PPV gate), I am not allowing live streams of this event to be posted here. This is the only race all year which I will be this restrictive about live streaming. If you post a link to one, I will remove it. Re-post it and get warned. Re-post it again and you'll be banned for a week.

I'm on Twitter, and though I don't like that it's become a source for big networks for "information" (what happened to good ol' fashioned reporting, anyway??), it's actually a good way to find stuff out that the broadcast doesn't mention... but damn, it sucks that the sport has come to this.

Looking forward to seeing the new surface in action, anyway.

Apparently Kurt Busch was suspended until 6/13. I wonder who James Finch will put in the 51 this weekend.

Frankly Im a bit surprised that this was the straw to break the camels back considering other drivers (mostly Tony) go off on the media a lot more than Kurt does. I guess the lesson here is not to do that when under probation.
Still if this finally doesnt show Kurt to actually respect the fact he still has a ride in NASCAR I dont know what will.

From page 7 of the Dover thread for those who didn't follow up:

On SPEED Center, someone asked Kurt Busch a question and he bitched at him saying it wasn't a racing question and that (Busch said it was Bob) was trying to start stuff.

Tony only belittles them, he doesn't say he'd beat the shit out of them, there's a bit of a difference.

Considering the shit that NASCAR has let slide on track the past two years or so, the fact that this incident which seems relatively minor compared to what he's done before and that happened off track and behind a microphone is what gets him suspended, seems pretty ridiculous.

Although I'm not going to miss him being on track next week.

I bet it will be Mike Bliss in the #51 this weekend. Maybe Tony Raines.

NASCAR botches another decision. Suspended for a snide remark at a reporter? That's calamitously poor decision-making.

Carl Edwards meanwhile, didn't miss a race for nearly killing Brad Keselowski twice.

I'd rather watch Jeremy Methfield all doped up wondering around a racetrack then that f...face of Kurt :)

Should of probably not threatened to kill a reporter if he wanted to race.

As as Kurt Busch fan this sucks. I know he needs to calm his stupid mouth down but I agree with Chris. He made a snotty remark, he didn't intentionally flip someone at 190mph or wreck a series title contender during caution purposely. As just a fan of the sport, NASCAR's grey area is retarded. I guess it is what it is. Oh well.

Suppose ill be going for Jr or Kez this weekend.

Based on NASCAR's past decisions the last few years, it would've made more sense if NASCAR suspended him over his hissy fits on pit road at Darlington.

Doesn't matter if this is smaller than some of the other stuff he's pulled, it's the latest in a long line of things and that's why he's getting suspended. NASCAR's not saying the threat to Bob on its own warrants a suspension, but the series of events leading up to it (just about every week now) does.

Post subject:  Re: Pocono/Texas/Eldora | KURT BUSCH SUSPENDED AGAIN

So why didn't Tony get suspended for all his childish stuff in the early to mid 2000's? I'm not defending Kurt, I'm just asking why NASCAR isn't being consistent.

And you can say Kurt does it every week but that's crap, we didn't have access to team radios and what now back then like we do now.

Alright, let's not get carried away. He did not threaten to kill Bob Pockrass.

And for the love of fuck "should of" is a grammatical holocaust. Get it straight, man. :p
