Hard to believe this was only Jeff Gordons 3rd top 10 of the season and first since Texas. Hopefully this will be a turning point to put his season back in the right direction.

Congratulations Kahne, finally winning a race with Hendrick Motorsports!

With the huge female fan base he's got, it was about damn time to start winning something...

Blech, talk about a 2/10 weekend.

It was supposed to rain in Monaco, Ashley Judd's husband won the 500, and JOONIOR didn't win the 600.

Agreed, glad I spent my night at the track.

And 2nd fastest at Charlotte, after the '99 fall race.

I really don't understand this season. I really see IndyCar making a comeback if NASCAR continues down this road. Not that it would be a bad thing either, I find myself looking forward to them more than the Cup races.

...and 6th fastest ever at the track, behind the '99 Cup fall race, both IRL races (97-98) and both IROC races (96-97) :p

Two dull races with likeable winners, one great race with a douchebag winner. Monacianapolotte, she's a frustrating one.

Over/under: 15

My bet's on under. WAY under.

Think I may have been too generous when setting that line.

Turns out I Stanway'd this one, because when I turned the stream back on it Kahne was getting out of his car in victory lane.

Oh well, doesn't sound like I missed out on much :p

It wasn't that bad of a race. I'd give it a 6.

So is this really the worst year for NASCAR? (and auto racing in general) I mean has there been any exciting action in Cup this year? No cool winners, no close finishesand not that this is what we want, but a couple of big ones never hurt either...God why are we wasting our Sundays?

Conversely, IndyCar's getting better. Sure, the winners could use a variety, but the on-track product is actually enjoyable.

We waste our Sundays watching this shit because we're auto racing fans. We always watch, no matter how bad a race gets.

Weren't there supposed to be aero changes in order to make the racing better and the car ( a bit) more difficuilt to drive?

It helped a teeny bit as Kasey and Kurt self-spun in qualifying but a lot more is needed. The cars are still superglued to the track to the track for the most part and tires still BARELY fall off and the points system doesn’t reward gaining one or two positions much but penalizes a bad finish heavily so no one tries too hard to pass anymore either. It's like they accept that they'll get all they can on the restarts and after that just settle in and ride because it's pointless to try after that.

Focus on 2013. 2012 is a write off, imo.

Wasn't the dullest race ever (would have been worse if the 88 had won)

Junior had a strong car, but it wasn't a winning one, Simon.

I've been thinking of 2012 as a "wasted" year now.. The races that I have seen(and that's not all of them) haven't been that exciting. I keep hoping the stuff coming up will redeem things, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
